I wouldn`t worry so much about hotel reservations yet. I can`t even find any rates for any SPG hotels for that period. It`s way way too far in advance for Japanese hotels to release promotional rates or even have rates up. My advice would be to wait until 6 months or so before to start booking and even that`s a long way in advance given you can only book domestic flights up to 2.5 months in advance so a lot of promos are geared around that.

Wow, we've hit 50+ people in less than two weeks! That's an amazing turn out for this first Japan Do. The other organizers and myself are looking forward to planning a bunch of activities and events to entertain all of you while you're here visiting our fair city

If you have any event or location suggestions, please feel free to PM any of us and we'll take into account as we finalize the schedule.

I could probably get to this but if it's full already, maybe I'm too late anyhow.

If you'd like to do a lunch or dinner at the NY Grill at the PHT, I could probably help facilitate the arrangements even if I didn't go to the event. I know the management there pretty well. Lunch might cost more than a night at a Toyoko Inn, however -- but it's a very filling lunch (includes a salad and dessert buffet)!

Waitlist Process

Folks

If you have been added to the event waitlist, the event organisers receive an email from EventBrite. We will then do what we can to release a seat. If that happens, EventBrite will send you an email and then you have 24-hours to respond.

If you do not respond, you will miss your slot and have to start the whole process over again. At least 4-people did not respond to the waitlist cleared email over the past day or so.

We're already well over with 68 registered attendees...

Cheers

Simon

Same here. Got the response within a few hours. Followed the eventbrite link. Looks like I initially was put back on the waitlist again, but then go the "confirm registration" option.

Might make a bit of a mileage run out of this, with upgrades already cleared on a held reservation for LHR-LAX-NRT.....
