Based upon my flights and what I've read in prior posts, flights that were flown by early afternoon on the 14th would have had the base miles posted to their account before the DEQM sweep which seems to have done the night of the 14th CDT. I had a morning flight on the 14th that has DEQM's posted. The red-eye that I took to JFK that same day posted the base miles a day later after the sweep.

I'm having a noob moment if someone can help me out :-)

1. Does the sweep happen at different times for everyone?

2. When AA does the sweep, does the bonus miles show up under respective promo codes?

3. I'm slightly confused about my statement. It is probably something obvious so if someone can show me where I'm confused that would be great.

I'm PLT and I've done 8 SFO-DFW segments so far. My AA activity shows. all 8 flights so far

Date Transaction Description* Mileage Bonus Total

01/16/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1381 Y DFW SFO 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/16/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 540 Y SFO DFW 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/15/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1077 Y DFW SFO 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/15/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 2042 Y SFO DFW 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/14/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 399 Y DFW SFO 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/14/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1536 Y SFO DFW 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/07/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 1309 Y DFW SFO 1,464 1,464 2,928
01/07/12 AMERICAN AIRLINES 312 Y SFO DFW 1,464 1,464 2,928
Total Miles Posted 11,712 11,712 23,424

The Mileage column I assume is my EQM, and I assume Bonus column is the RDM based on my 100 PLT% bonus, so based on this, my total YTD EQM should be 11,712 and YTD RDM should be 23,434, correct?

Yet under Summary, my total YTD Elite Qualifying Miles is 23,424

Can someone show me what I'm missing here? Thank you!

Ben1979, the list is quite useless for EQM. Unless you do some conversion with excel. The mileage column is base BIS miles, now only useful for calculating million miler status (unless if you are none elite then it is your EQM and RDM).

got all EQMs so far

Last DEQ11 flight was on 1/11 and last DEQAA flight was 1/13 (except today)

All EQMs are here now. No RDM.

Sorry I didn't notice all your flights were over 500 miles. Then the mileage column should be your base RDM and EQM.

it's harder to figure out exactly what flights you've got DEQ11 and DEQAA as all your flights are same. but you could get 23424 if, say, 1/7 flights you get both promos (1464*6 with base), and 1/14, 1/15 you have DEQ11 (1464*8), and 1/16 no promos posted yet (1464*2 for base). so total is 1464*16 = 23424.

Beware reroutes on non-AA metal, even if ORC is given

*highly recommend that any folks who experience cancellations and rebookings on non-AA metal read this post and compare to one's personal situation and mileage accounting*

I am so glad that I did not take my own advice to "wait and see" if my missing EQMs would self-correct. I called the Advantage desk, and it turns out that I was right: Because one of my r/t itineraries had a segment that was rebooked by AA onto a non-AA flight, that r/t was excluded from the DEQAA and DEQ11 sweep, even though I received ORC for the cancelled AA segment.

Below is what was confirmed as having posted to my account by an Advantage representative (they can see which EQM bonuses have been applied to which flights, even though such bonuses are not shown online). Just to get folks who may be similarly situated as me on the same page, here is a recap of my flight activity, grouped in pairs for r/t calculations (critical, since DEQ11 requires a r/t itin on AA metal):

Date - Flight # - City Pair - [Type of Mileage & Mileage Actually Received]
Jan 05 AA 1522 SFO-ORD [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=1846]
Jan 06 AA 1341 ORD-SFO [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=1846]

Jan 06 AA 1522 SFO-ORD [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]
Jan 07 AA 451 ORD-SFO [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]

Jan 09 AA 1522 SFO-ORD [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]
Jan 10 AA 1341 ORD-SFO [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]

Jan 10 AA 1522 SFO-ORD [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=NONE YET / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]
*Jan 11 AA 1341 ORD-SFO [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=NONE YET / DEQ11(EQM)=NONE YET / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]

* This flight went mechanical and was cancelled, forcing a rerouting on UA metal. ORC was given, but this did not make the flight eligible for the DEQAA & DEQ11 sweep. The Advantage agent had to append my record and said to "give the system 48 hours to update, so that when the next sweep occurs, this r/t pair will be 'picked up' by the bonus codes."

Jan 11 AA 1522 SFO-ORD [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]
Jan 12 AA 1341 ORD-SFO [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]

Jan 12 AA 1522 SFO-ORD [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]
Jan 13 AA 1341 ORD-SFO [Base=1846 / EXP Bonus=1846 / EQM=1846 / DEQAA(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(EQM)=1846 / DEQ11(RDM)=NONE YET]

So when AA posts the promo miles from DEQ11 or DEQAA, they don't make a notation on which is which, so if AA did a sweep on my account and posted some of my promo EQM, there isn't a way for me to tell which is which?

You have to calculate it yourself. It does not show you online.

They don't make a notation which is visible to you on AA.com. The only way to get a "line-item accounting" is to call Advantage. Recommend that you first track your mileage in Excel, then double check your calculations, then if there are discrepancies (especially if flight cancellations force a re-route on non-AA metal), that you ask Advantage to read to you which bonuses have been applied to which flights.

Yeah, I've got everything in a spreadsheet already and go over with them

Thank you!
