Just joined Flyertalk...
 

Hi there my name is Jonathan and I thought I'd introduce myself as I have just joined Flyertalk...

The reason for joining is to do a bit of research on some travel plans I have for next year (Nov/Dec 2012)

Myself and my wife are planning to visit a friend in Sydney (Aus), we are looking to fly from London Heathrow to Hong Kong for a few days then fly down to Sydney on the return leg we will go via Singapore and spend a day or so there before returning to London Heathrow.

I'm not well travelled on long haul flights and only do a few so only ever used Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines and BA.

Myself and my wife have BMI Diamond Club cards with a combined points total of 150000 so we'd be looking to use a Star Alliance airline.

If you were me what Airlines would you use to do this trip and why?

Also if possible we'd like to go business class with a combo of miles and cash if possible but this is something I'd be better asking on the BMI Diamond Club thread.
