TUCSON ARIZONA DO - Sunday March 27 & Monday March 28 2011
OK guys, a Tucson Do is on for the end of this March.
Sunday March 27:
Lunch: Sonoran hot dog at either El Guero Canelo or BK. (besides the hot dog they have other menu items)
not sure what a Sonoran Hot Dog is? Well neither was I until bk3day turned me on to these things: The Sonoran hot dog, found in Tucson, Metro Phoenix, and in neighboring Sonora, Mexico, is a hot dog grilled, wrapped in Mesquite-smoked bacon, topped with freshly chopped tomatoes, onions, shredded yellow or cotijo cheese, tomatillo salsa or red chili sauce, pinto beans, mayonnaise, ketchup and/or mustard, and served on bread and often with a fresh-roasted chili. It originated in Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora.
Tour the Titan Missile Museum tour www.titanmissilemuseum.org
Dinner: TBD but someplace like El Charro Café or Café Poca Cosa
Monday Morning March 28:
Pima Air & Space Museum – Aircraft Boneyard www.pimaair.org
hope y’all can make some or all of it, maybe more will be added as well.

www.elcharrocafe.com
Itinerary for Monday March 28:
thanks to Herb687 for calling the Pima Air & Space Museum for information on the Davis-Monthan AFB "boneyard" tours on Monday the 28th. Tours of the boneyard leave from the Pima museum at 1000, 1130, 1330 and 1500 on Monday. The museum doesn't take reservations for the boneyard tours so we just need to show up as early as possible to get on the list. Each person who plans on going needs to show up as there is no reserving tour spots for someone else.
I'll be there at 9am.

Count me in for sure. Perhaps some of the STIFFS attendees back in '03 will be around? El Charro is as good as ever. I was just there for NYE. Anyway many thanks Sweet Willle and jan_az .

The whole Sunday/Monday thing doesn't work for me, but the Sonoran hot dog sounds amazing! I'm tempted to see if I can swing that Saturday out and a Sunday afternoon back, just for the Sonoran hot dog!
