Glad everyone had a good time! And congrats Greg on his book!

I'm terribly bummed I'm going to miss SMD3, but due to work no can do if it's the week before or week of Labor Day. I hope everyone has a fabulous time!

Cheers.

I know at least some people are going to be more bummed at missing you there more than you are bummed at missing out :(

Going to be in early September. Aircraft is hopefully a UA 763 flown by FT's favorite pilot. I think the price points talked about were ~$8-900 in Y and $2000+ in C/F but don't hold me to that since it was loud and I couldn't hear Tommy so well while he was talking.

Beyond that you'll have to wait for someone who actually knows details to provide them. This is just what was shared at the party and I know nothing more.

Sounds like an interesting program. Looking forward to it! ^

Nice seeing folks last night.

The EU leg will start on a Monday and the Brazil leg I think on Thursday
It will be the week before or the Labor week depending on room availability of Hyatt properties in Chicago

Lineup sounds awesome, the only slightly sad note is that it's basically guaranteed to collide with Cow-DO VII that takes place ON Labor Day weekend. SMD3 wins of course... :)

Anxiously waiting on exact dates and a signup link!

Thank you all for coming. Had a blast!

I have created a poll (sorry, don't know if I have rights to make one here, couldn't figure it out), please post your preferred dates.

Thanks!

Only because I didn't know about MP until later - next time I will scoop them all on FT and MP. :D

It was great seeing everyone at the party. I can't wait for SMD3! :D

This sounds good. Please remember that most of the US based participants will need to apply for visas so we'll need proof of ticket purchase decently far in advance (especially for those that use their passports pretty regularly).

I'm sure you can post a poll on FT. Some people have posted they prefer not to sign up for multiple BBs just for a poll, but are interested in attending & presumably would like to cast their vote. The CB mods could probably help set it up for you.

I already voted so it doesn't affect me, but if you want more input then having a poll on FT in the SMD3 planning thread might be handy.

Cheers.

If you don't want to vote in the poll, just post your preference in this thread instead. I'll count the votes after :)

It's not that difficult, but it will cost a pretty penny (but only for Americans).

It takes 3 days to get this going at the Chicago consulate.

Most countries are exempt, but as we all know, the Brazilians are not so happy with US policies, so the are gauging Americans. Canadians are at 65 bucks, Europeans don't need a visa.

Full list of countries exempt here: http://www.brazilconsulatechicago.org/en-2-10-102.html

Price list here:

TOURIST VISA
Country Visa fee Payback Fee 2
USA - US$ 0 US$ 140.00
Canada US$ 65.00
Japan US$ 25.00
Mexico US$ 30.00
Nigeria US$ 40.00
Russia US$ 50.00
Australia US$ 35.00
All other countries US$ 20.00
