Congratulations to LIH Prem and all the posters who doubled or tripled their post counts and became FlyerTalk Evangelists from posting in one thread!

When I posted up the winner of the Come Fly To Me, Great FlyerTalk Mileage Run offer, I had also posted at the bottom that I had drawn a runner-up just in case the winning member wasn't able to play H-O-R-S-E with me. So, just in case I forget or lose the runner-up info, let me post it here. I know who the member is, but I'll let you figure it out from this (random) post number. Congrats to the runner-up—oh so close:

At least I am a runner up here! In case LIH Prem is unable to perform his duties, I am standing in the wings. I actually had a chance to win and am thrilled that a fellow Islander who may actually be able to play H-O-R-S-E was the winner. Randy would have slaughtered me.

I also think it was quite poetic that the runner up post was selected from the period where I was on a 1000 post vow of silence, very near its end.

I would have enjoyed a trip to COS where my maternal grandfather was born. He was raised on an apple orchard there at the turn of the century, until it was destroyed by fire and they lost everything. My maternal great-grandparents are buried there. I've never been able to convince Mom89339 to hop on an RJ to fly there although someday I will make it there.

Again, my heartiest congratulations to LIH Prem!

Story of my life; I'm used to it though. At least I was First Runner Up here!

Yes, I noticed that. It's a good thing those of us in the 1K and 2K (and above) clubs had such a brilliant time posting, and now Pat89339 at number 9 got runner up, I'm sure we all feel somewhat closer to success.

(Oops I haven't congratulated LIH Prem for a paragrah) Congrats LIH Prem.

And now congrats to Pat89339 also.

After starting with Openflights this afternoon, I got so enthused I added flights from 2006 - 2008 as well.

Almost as addictive as posting!

I remember that One Thousand Post Vow of Silence - very disconcerting (for me) coming from you. ;)

Lady Luck smiles on you in many ways.

You weren't the only one disconcerted; several were troubled by my lack of conversation. However, it would break the vow of silence to respond with words as to what I was doing--except for the occasional necessary verification to MODs that I was not a bot.

LIH Prem Dec 2, 2010 7:37 pm

wow, you were the first runner up? So in the event, I can't serve as Ms House Of Miles, you get the crown?

Apparently so. Two major losses in a single week. I think I need to go drown my sorrows now...
