Hi guys, we are going to have a small Do in TLV, any FTers from TLV area are welcome.

Wife and I will be in Israel 26-nov2, but not sure which days well be in TLV (flight out of TLV)

Whoa, cool. I'm flying out tonight. Count me as a maybe - I'm likely in Jerusalem through most of the day Sat 10/23 but may swing back to Tel Aviv after sundown.

I arrived and checked into the IC David this afternoon. No plans as of yet, but tomorrow [Friday] is my only full day here.

Sorry, I won't be there in Israel for this time. Because it was too many violence in Middle East. It does not safe for me at all. I won't necessary flying to TLV for quite long time.

Thanks to karung99 +1 for a great day to/in/from Old Jaffa and an interesting lunch of shawarma, falafel and all the accompaniments! I love having such quality time with FTers and hearing travel stories/tips. ^

It was wonderful mini do with fellows FTers and their local friends, we went out for dinner afterward at King George restaurant near by, it turned out it is a great local hang out, lady at lounge recommend that place for us, however we were stock with gyro Gina, it happened to be closed already by the time we went there, and we asked local couple and they asked to follow them to King George, the food is huge and it is around 35 sekel ($8) for dinner.

I arrived at TLV after 8am for 10.25am flight and got held by security for 1.75 hrs. Home now, but my netbook isn't. Not pleasant. :(

PS - And on top of that, CO equipment swapped new config for old config = old BF seats = no sleep = cough/cold!

What happen on security? I hope it is smooth sailing for us tonight

We went to Jerusalem with uva185, yesterday and have a great time there, joined a Free Tour :)

We are heading to Haifa this Morning

Lots of red flags, so I was questioned by a dozen or so people & body searched (pat down). I am (a Flyertalker!):
- solo traveler
- full passport
- very little baggage (a backpack)

When I came back from the body search room, I did not see my backpack & was told I could pack up the contents of my messenger bag picked apart & scattered in a big gray bin. My laptop sleeve was empty, so I asked for the computer and was told it was "in checked bag." The electric cart took me to the plane just as boarding was wrapping up. Once on the plane, I realized I was also missing cords & my zip lock baggie of liquids.

At EWR, I picked up my backpack from the carousel to clear customs & security, opened it up and no netbook. :mad: Went to file a report & headed to my next gate. Checked in w/ SFO bag services and found out my "other bag" was going to be flown in on UA the next day. Turns out the netbook & hopefully its cords were packaged separately & put on board. If Israeli had told me to look for a 2nd "bag" to pick up at EWR, I wouldn't be so ruffled.

The netbook is at SFO & I will probably pick it up during transit on Thursday.

I feel very safe here, was working around TLV around 11 p.m. not sure I feel safe walking around down town SFO or LA :p

Boxo, glad your netbook are in SFO, if you need me to pick it for you I will be in SFO this Sat on the way to ORD and TPA.

You got to love UA, got upgrade all they way to TPA :)

We are going to be at TLV 3 hrs earlier today, hopefully we do not have to go that kind of security.

Security check is very long process in TLV, arrived at TLV at 7:30 pm and by the time seating down at Dan Lounge it is 9:10 pm.

The lounge is nothing to write home about just general basic snacks.
