I'm envious, folks. As a Flyers fan who grew up an hour or so from Philly, I wish I could've made it. Did the next best thing, though -- bought tickets to the Flyers/Hawks game the next day in Chicago.

I should be arriving into Philly around 12pm...Is there anything planned for that time?

I arrive Friday, will stay at one of the airport hotels Friday night (booked on the AmEx Travel 50% Off day last month), then have the Hyatt at the Bellevue night booked for Saturday.

No Dinner for me, so a :( and hopefully the weather won't be that bad...

The game starts at 1PM...you better get there quick! Its a subway ride from center city...not too far on the subway.

Bolt Bus is dropping me off at JFK and N 31st. How long of a ride would that be?

It will drop you 30th and JFK (almost the same as 31st/JFK).

From there, to stadium involves two subway trains (fastest option).

Fastest way:

Go to 30th street subway station; Get on Market-Frankford line going towards Frankford Transit Center.
get off at 15th Street station (One stop).

Then, walk to City hall station (about 5 minutes).
Get on Broad-Street Line Subway; Going towards AT&T station.

The stadium will be the last stop. (about 10-12 minutes)

Hopefully everything will go well!

It is a little tight, but with the Ritz being across the street from City Hall, it shouldn't hold him up too much.

I'm going to get there as close to 11:15 as possible, and I'll be leaving on the 12:25 City Hall departure. Hopefully everyone will be able to make that departure time, and we can all go to the stadium as a group. SEPTA subway fare is $2.00.

Hmmmmmm. Copa Car Service in Philly has a mixed record of getting to the right place at the right time. Better that you follow snod08's transit instructions, up to the point of City Hall. I'm wondering how it would be easiest for you to meet up with the rest of the group.

Is NJT to Trenton then SEPTA to Suburban Station not an option for you? That'll be the easiest way.

Have a good flight back to SF SFOGate and It was a pleasure to meet everyone, the Missus had an excellent time and there was no :rolleyes: to be had at all today!

I had a great time as well meeting more members of the Box. Both at the Hockey game, at the Hyatt Suite and at MWG's house celebrating her birthday. I literally JUST got home from it all. :D

Thanks for coming out, everyone. I had a great time, aided in no small part by the lights-out play of Johan Hedberg. Food and company were great, and I promise next time I'll know my subway and stadium entrances and exits better. :o

But LOL...to your credit, we did not get lost; and no one was left behind!

Myself (and possibly gbryan84) were sad that we did not get to see a fight.

Fighting is a piece of hockey, and if you want to see out-and-out violence masquerading as hockey you would be best served by going to a Philadelphia-Pittsburgh or a Philadelphia-Ottawa game. Both would be excellent choices if you want to see blood on the ice and sit through numerous delays of the game thanks to referees having to sort out multiple players earning multiple penalties at the same time. Philly and Ottawa combined to set the NHL record for most penalty minutes issued in a single game...IIRC it was north of 500. When you pause to consider that penalties are handed out in two, five, and ten minute increments to individuals...

wow...500 minutes!! that must be a heck of a rivalry.
