Is there really going to be an invite from United? I'd like to book my flights asap but seeing no news from UA I'm wondering if it makes sense to trust that 1/ there will be an invite and 2/ I will be selected (assuming too many folks sign up.) Lucky, any insight?

Dinner with us isn't a good enough reason?

I promise the invite is coming, and I promise you'll get a spot. Good enough?

Us? Last I checked you were still waffling about in the 'maybe' category.

Good choice lucky--thanks again karung99. We had an excellent FT dinner with Captain Denny at this restaurant and the owner was very excited to have all of us there (although the neighborhood locals were confused to see such a large party). There were 34 of us and there wasn't a problem ordering off the menu. It looks like this group may be much larger.

Flights booked, leaving SFO on AA's 11:20pm back to Boston.

If there are locals who can help out with transportation from San Fran (sounds like many will be headed back to SFO afterwards), count me in!

Also, just noticed the restaurant is quite close (a few miles) to the San Bruno fire ground zero...

Not really that close. There's no need for concern.

Shucks I miss it by two days this year. At least I'll be on a UA flight at the time
