Happy Birthday & how's the job market for a newly minted PhD? Congrats on that!!!

Thanks! There's another thread dedicated to my awesomeness in that department, of course. ;) The job market is kind of a crapshoot, federal funding is in a bit of disarray at the moment, as you can imagine... while I'm here in MIA at my conference, I am making sure to network, schmooze, rub elbows, grease palms shake hands, etc... we'll see, I guess.

So, on this one-year anniversary of your question, I figure I may as well announce... I've been hired at a certain university in Boulder, CO, and will be moving there at the end of next month. A research position, not faculty.... but I'm working on that. ;) An excellent place to work, and a superb place to live. I'll miss the Bay Area, but job aside, if I had to choose another place to live, it would be Boulder!
