LH JU 52 MUC Do August 05, 2010

Initiated by flying student at VFT (a mini version of FT in Germany) we have chartered a vintage JU-52 maintained by Lufthansa's DLBS Trust (Deutsche Lufthansa Berlin-Stiftung) in MUC on August 5.

The JU-52 (painted tail # D-AQUI) is an old bird that has seen quite a bit of this world and comes out of the hangar each summer to delight aviation buffs. You can buy seat on the demo flight or charter the entire plane. The Charter is done in sets of 16. We have already charted one 30 min slot (flying time, so the experience is about 50 minutes with taxi).

The list of participants is:

05 AUG 2010 16.15
(confirmed and committed to pay)
1. flysurfer
2. hippo72
3. Mlang2
4. FLYGVA
5. rcs
6. oweign
7. oliver2002
8. steffen0212
9. Tammo
10. MiPf76
11. kingair9
12. kingair9 junior
13. Xexor
14. wanderlust
15. petz
16. tommy777

We have a waitlist if anyone drops out. If you are interested, send me a PM and I will add you to the list.

Waitlist for the second flight:

1. flying student (he is very busy with work, so even as an organiser he may not be able to come)
2. NewbieRunner -got confirmed
3. Colpuck
4. monitor - got confirmed
5. sbm12
6. Scott6067
7. supermasterphil
8. xyzzy - got confirmed
9. DrThax (VFT)
10. violist
11. bobby (VFT)
12. Tyrolean
13. & 14. douggyheffernan (VFT) +1

The approximate cost for a seat is 145 EUR. This includes all taxes etc. The ticket is fully transferable till 48h before departure. After payment you will receive a paper ticket in the mail with the name field left blank. You need to inform the organizers the final name of the passenger atleast 48h before departure so that LH can arrange the insurance and file the flight manifest with MUC airport. Departure will take place from the regular MUC terminal.

I contacted/asked LH in MUC and they will also have a little behind the scenes tour for the participants of the charter during that day. Details will be posted here.

Since the Do is taking place in Germany and FT is involved the day will end in a get together as an extension of our monthly MUC Stammtisch. Participation at the this event is of course open to all. The current particpant list is:

1. flysurfer
2. hippo72
3. Mlang2
4. FLYGVA
5. rcs
6. oweign
7. oliver2002
8. steffen0212
9. Tammo
10. MiPf76
11. Xexor
12. wanderlust
13. tommy777
14. Newbie Runner
15. Monitor

Feel free to PM szg (the official host of the MUC FT Stammtisch) if you would like to come to that event.

Looking forward to see some of you in summer!

Regards Oliver2002

Oooohhh....this sounds incredibly cool. Time to see if I can find a way to MUC and give myself a (slightly) early birthday present.

Put me down for a maybe +1, my grandfather an old pilot would love this. I just need to make sure I can find time off from work and convince him to fly to germany for a weekend with me lol.

May I suggest anyone interested to PM oliver2002 if they haven't done so already and have their name added to the waitlist? If there are enough of us the second flight on the same day might be possible.
