Will they honor the BOGO over July 4th weekend? Did you call and make the reservation on the phone telling them that you were using the BOGO or were you planning on just presenting it when you got there. This is OT forthis thread but the Marriot forum does have a lot of data on turned down BOGO's. I have even had this happen with DH and he is a PP.

I'd like to come, but the hotel situation concerns me. (I plan to check further.) Also, 60,000 people seems like a lot for a string performance. Please schedule a peformance for us near an airport.

Wow - what a great way to end your career! I will try to make it, and rope GodOSpoons into attending too. He lives in Boston. The elusive Mr. Lori_Q might make an appearance as well.

Keep us posted if you schedule a recital. I'll be somewhere in the Marquesas Islands on the 4th, but would do my best to attend a later event!

One of you inquired about the Amelia Payson House. My local informant says
I've never been in there, but I looks nice from the outside. I suppose
$135/nite is not bad for 7/4--or almost anytime. I'd say book it.
They can always cancel later.
I like the Stephen Daniels House on my street, because of the character
who runs it (the town drunk lady). Right behind my house is Sunrise B&B.
Very very nice. Still close enough to the "event."

Awww Michael, I would have made the time but have prior commitments I can't break at this time. This is what I get for being off FT for so so long!

Best wishes, Michael, on the concert and your retirement. Now you'll have more time to travel.
I will be having company over July 4th week (although why PIT people want to come to PHX at that time is baffling to me), so I will be unable to attend.
Hoping that it's a lovely experience for you and all of your many FT friends.

short violin recital July 3 @ 4 pm
I'm planning on giving a recital of easy-listening music - the most
serious thing, if we do anything serious at all, would be a Schubert
sonatina (which they give to students after they've hacked away
for three years or so but which deserve a lot more musical respect
than that). Paul Madore will be my accompanist.
A recital of short and agreeable works
