You're 100% right about the companion program - like I said b/4 I knew it was baloney before I signed up for this card. I signed up for this card because of the flight points - it's free points for me as this is my primary card so I don't have a hard time matching the flight points with purchase points. I also initially signed up for the regular PP, but did not upgrage until I was invited to do so and offered a promotion of additional 2 points per $ for 6 months - that means that for 6 months I earned 3 points for every $ on all purchases and 4 points per $ for purchases in select categories. It really paid off since all those bonus points were eligible to be matched with flight points and I purchased quite a few international tickets for friends and family members during that time.

Each person needs to evaluate where their spending will maximize their rewards values and do what suits them best - for me it will be PPE for now; otherwise my next option would be spg amex card.

I second the motion. I'm able to rack up TYP quite fast with bonus points, select spend points, flight points, etc. I like this program for airline tickets a lot better than any mileage program - since there's no blackout dates, it's much easier to get the exact dates and flights you need than with an airline mileage award. On top of that, I can still earn mileage on whatever airline I fly. It's definitely a great program, except if one is an utter......... ;)

Third. I've received great value from the PPE card and the TYP program in general. Where else can you essentially get the value of two TYPs for general spending (one purchase point matched by one flight points)? Used with the fixed flight rewards it's like getting 4% or 6% back on general purchases depending which reward one uses. Not to mention the fact how one can clean up with the Drivers Edge card...a phenomenal program!

Unfortunately I don't see the fixed rewards lasting past the end of the year if we're lucky. CITI is bleeding money, and I predict a severe devaluation before too long.

FYI, you can also go to http://www.spirit-incentives.com/gen...e=Air+Programs and see the program they offer to clients (i.e. Citi, BAC others….) Then you can see what you are paying for.

Any idea which program PPE or Chairman are?

Also saw somewhere there is a 30% fulfill rate on these things!
