TYN: How far can I stretch the limits of the fixed price ticket?
I'm living near SFO and SJC.
I have a wedding to go to near FRA right before a dance camp near BOS. It'd make sense, of course, to hit BOS on the way home from FRA, not as a separate roundtrip.
So I'm wondering if I could still use TYP for this (SFO-FRA, FRA-BOS, BOS-SFO), given that I'd be staying longer than 24 hours in BOS (~5 days, so not just a brief stopover).
If this won't work with TYN as one flight (and 80K points would be a lot to pay, IMHO), what would be an effective strategy to minimize costs and still fly on *A? Perhaps 20K TYP SFO-BOS and pay cash for BOS-FRA? Oh, whoa... maybe not. Cheapest flight BOS-FRA is >$1200?!?
Ack. Any other ideas?
