Application link for the Shop Your Way (SYW) MasterCard is HERE.

Accumulating points, expiration, and redemptions:
You can accumulate SYW points in some of the following methods:
  • Bonus offers sent to your email (ie: Spend $750 on Online and get 200,000 SYW Bonus points)
  • Regular spend - categories: 5% in gas, 3% in grocery/restaurants, 2% in SYW Merchants, 1% everywhere else
  • "Missions" in the SYW App (iPhone/Android)
Expiration of points:
Not all points have the same expiration timeframe. Some bonus/incentive points expire in 30 days or less. Most are 1 year. You can check in the SYW app, or the shopyourway.com website. Make sure to redeem the points before they expire!!!!

Redemptions:
You can only redeem $200 worth per day. So if you redeem for a $200 GC, you have to wait until the next day to make another redemption of any amount.

Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your “Credit Home” page, and find “Available Credit” at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says “Request Increase” to begin the process.

I know that both Xfinity mobile and Xfinity internet do count.
Does ATT wireless payments count for Utilities. I already overpaid for my electric and water companies and checking to see if any other transactions qualify as Utilities.

What happens? It doesn't trigger the promo or you can't even buy the cards at the register somehow?

I picked up 2x$500 today. Are you saying this might trigger something with Citi and get it shutoff? Do I need to spread this into different visits? I do always do some regular shopping too.

The cashier does always give you a second look when buying the $500 cards imo.

For whatever reason Citi will not allow P2s card to buy Visa gift cards. I’ve tried several times at different merchants. It’s always caused her account to be locked. When I’ve called a supervisor has gotten on and said they see I’m trying to buy gift cards and it’s not allowed. I have not had this issue on my SYW card.

SYW, grocery and Aldi gift cards?

Has anyone tried buying an Aldi gift card to satisfy one of the SYW grocery missions?

I am planning to try it, mixing a gift card purchase with normal shopping. However, I'm not sure whether maybe they break it up into separate transactions at Aldi or whether something else maybe goes wrong.

I haven't tried Aldi, but if you have Walmart Neighborhood near you. Buy GC there, it counts toward SYW grocery missions. I got $200 for spending $2k at GGR each month for the rest of 2024. Will buy vanilla or SS VGC at the Walmart Neighborhood to complete this offer.

Thanks! I was honestly a bit dubious that this would work reliably, but I found someone else saying something similar. I'll collect other people's reports of Walmart counting (or certain Walmarts like you were saying).

Any data points on what codes as grocery for the Shop Your Way Mastercard?I've found some data points where Safeway.com codes as both grocery and online.

Instacart with PayPal codes as grocery.

Walmart Pay codes as grocery. Not sure if in store or online.

Costco gift card codes as grocery possibly or online.

Target in store gift card purchases codes as grocery for certain locations. Unsure if also online.

Starbucks reload via the app codes as restaurant or online (not sure which)

OR

Earn 15,000 Bonus ThankYou Points after you spend $1,500 or more on total eligible purchases within the month. Offer ends 12/31/2024.

This is essentially 10x Bonus ThankYou Points if GGR spending is just over $750 or $1,500 per month.

Max bonus points is capped at 180,000 Bonus ThankYou points for calendar year 2024.

Nice to know what my target spending is for the whole year, and no more waiting for new offers every 3 months. I'll easily hit the max 180K points with regular monthly spend.

I wish mine was only $750 spend minimum. Mine is the 10% statement credit for $1000+ and $2000+ spend. I can't quite reach $1000 spend per month on gas/groc/dine.

if you have walmart neighborhood in the area, buy visa or mc gc there to pay for other things and it will count as grocery.

Yes, this is a really interesting proposal. A 10x increase in gratitude bonus points is very generous.

It's been more than a week since I got over the $1000 GGR spend and I don't see any statement credit yet. Usually it shows up in 4-5 days. Has anyone gotten it yet?

Is it different for these 2 tiered type of bonuses? Mine has always been 10% back, and as soon as you get over the lower threshold, you see the credit, and then each addl purchase triggers as a separate credit.

The fine print this time does have a new line "Limit one statement credit per month.", so I wonder if it's because of the large amount of gc I purchased this time or just because a single credit will be made after the month is over.
