Citi retention offers

Any results of getting annual fees waived this year?

Citi retention offers

The thread has been split at the year end. I copied the Wikipost from the 2018 - 2021 thread, but I'm not sure we need to keep it in the new thread, because much of the information is dated. If anyone wants to prune this copy be assured that no information will be lost because the Wikipost of the prior thread remains intact.

I tried chatting for an offer and was told they cannot waive the fee but to call a special number and I can get it waived. I just called in and was told they are giving offers. Waiting on a call back.

Citi AAdvantage Platinum spend $1000 get 7,500 TYP.
Disclosure, I received a spend $99 get $99 last July, not a high use card. Between $1k and $10k per year.

Did you happen to hear back?

That’s just the Dividend customer service number.

That special number you were given — 800-950-5114 — is just the regular customer service number on the back of my Citi Dividend card.

Then I may have the numbers mixed up, that might be the first one I called.

On my second annual fee with a Premier, only holding until I clear the 24 month requirement to get another opening bonus. Minimal spend at ~$400 last year. Called today, selected cancel at the automated prompt, asked to cancel with the first CSR that answered, and finally asked for any offers after I finally got on with the "account specialist". Only offer was $95 spend for $95 statement credit which I accepted.

I will be calling again next month after my next fee posts. I have about 8 cards with different renewal months.

Is that number for Citi? I've called it a few times and they haven't even identified themselves as Citi.

I called then number on the back of my card, choose to cancel and they transferred me to a person. I was just given the option to close the account using my phone keypad to accept. I didn't accept. I'm just trying to see if I can get the annual fee waived.

Hang up and call again. If the automated system transferred to a person there should be some sort of offer on the account. Account specialists are now predominantly overseas so sometimes you have to ask them to specifically look for offers on your account.
