ThankYou points earning overseas
Have a questions for Citi Thankyou Premier overseas earning.

Does supermarket/ gas stations overseas qualify for 3x earning? Or US only? Anybody had confirmed data points to share? Thanks!

I've gotten 3x at non-US gas stations before.

Haven't tried at any overseas supermarkets, although I don't see any exclusions to overseas bonus point earning on the Citi website, so I'd expect that you'd get 3x there also. Of course, this all depends on how the merchant is coded.

Thanks so much. Yea, I agree Amex is bad - all promotions are for US only and international groceries/ gas seldom count...

All in all I completely agree, just don't forget that, to their credit, the Green does offer 3X on dining and travel worldwide...

Oversea qualify, but they must code correctly.

I have had restaurants coded as catering and it didn't qualify. Citi would not budge.

I have used Citi cards while in Europe and Mexico. As long as they code to the correct category, bonus points are awarded.
