Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."
To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your Credit Home page, and find Available Credit at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says Request Increase to begin the process.

I called the number mentioned on the application page and asked if the card can earn TYPs. They said yes. So I went ahead and applied, and was approved with $4.5k CL. The promo states that you will get $150 after spending $1500 in the first 3 months, there is also a promo to get 5x on gas stations, 3x on groceries and restaurants (up to $10k combined for those 2 categories), and 2x on Sears and Kmart for the first year only. After first year it will only earn 1x on everything. So the "signup bonus" is 50k + $150 after spending $10k. This is not bad for no AF card.

Also, the category bonus appear to be for SYW members not TYP.

According to previous posts we will be able to switch between TYPs and SYWR. I also found a Citi page which mentions that if you card doesn't earn TYPs you can enroll it. I hope that it will earn 5x TYPs during promotional period. If not, we can switch back and forth, I think.

I was told that 5-3-2-1 only applies to SYWR, and I will need to do at least one purchase before I can switch to TYPs, but I will be able to switch back to SYWR if I want to, and will get 5-3-2-1 back. Not sure if I want those 5% in SYWR. This equates to $500 minus MS fees after $10k spend. Made a first purchase at 7-11. Let's see how it goes and if I'll get 5% on that purchase. Currently enrolled in SYWR.

Had my Sears card for about 15 years with very minimal use. It is part of SYWR program. Two years ago, I started receiving pretty good statement credit offers every 6 months or so. I currently have an offer of 10% statement credit each month Apr/May/Jun up to $100 credit per month for spending on Gas/Grocery/Restaurants. This is concurrent with another offer for $50 credit when I spend $500 in two months. Last offer received was in Sep 2017. My card was not switched to TYP.

I received the card, and I was trying to enroll it into TYP program instead of SYWR program. I was told that 5-3-2-1 only applies to SYWR, and I will need to do at least one purchase before I can switch to TYPs, but I will be able to switch back to SYWR if I want to, and will get 5-3-2-1 back. Not sure if I want those 5% in SYWR. This equates to $500 minus MS fees after $10k spend. Made a first purchase at 7-11. Let's see how it goes and if I'll get 5% on that purchase. Business TY card ears 3x in rotating categories. No annual fee. There is also a 20k to 40k TYP sign up bonus for 3k spend. From Doc of Credit:
- January-March: Advertising Services, Office Supply Merchants
- April-June: Computer Equipment Merchants, Software Merchants, and Telecommunications Merchants
- July-September: Airlines, Hotels and Car Rental merchants
- October-December: Restaurants and Entertainment

I switched my earnings to TYPs in early 2017,
the first offer (April -May 2017) was for 100 bonus TYPs per $1 up to 2500 TYPs.
Oct-Dec 2017 was 10X on $300 -$900 up to 9000 TYPs per month.
March-April 2018 $500 = 5000 bonus TYPs
April - June 2018 10X on $500-$1500 up to 15000 TYPs per month.
After June I'll have earned 79.5K TYPs
I have a Citi Premier and this Sears MC is the Best TYP card I have.

hey guys. shouldve asked earlier, but already submitted the app without instant decision so I will call in soon, but I totally didnt see where I input my SYWP number. did anyone notice that? I dont want to be assigned some random number duplicate, but I guess its too late now. went back and looked at the app again. no box for the number.

These occasional promos are the the angle and they're coming more frequently.

10X bonus TYPs at Gas, Grocery and Restaurants
$2000 or more made each month 7/01/18 - 09/30/18 up to a total of 30,000 bonus points each month!!
I don't know what you get with SYW but I'm glad I'm onto the TYP gravy train!
