DEAD as of 7/19/16:A working link per post 1049: https://www.citicards.com/cards/cred...EVZ&t=t&naInd=

You can Call Citi and convert from another Citi card over to this as of 10/30/2016

Phone Offer:

- Spend $2,000 in purchases with your AT&T Access More Card within 3 months of account opening.
- Use your card, now or later, to buy a new phone from AT&T, at full price and with no annual contract.
- Make your phone purchase using your unique phone offer link (which will be provided to you), activate and maintain service with AT&T for 15 days. If you buy a new phone now it will count toward the $2,000 in qualifying purchases!
- Citi will then credit your AT&T Access More Card account for the cost of the phone up to $650 (exclusive of taxes, shipping, fees & wireless service).
- Phone Offer Credit is not available if you have had an AT&T Access More Card account that was opened or closed in the past 18 24 months.

1. What phones are eligible?

(Details on eligible phones)

2. How do I unlock the phone to move it off of AT&T?

Do not power up the phone, insert SIM card, or activate phone. Go through the unlock portal as a non-AT&T customer and request unlock code. When it asks "Are you an AT&T wireless customer?", you must select "No"! Do not enter your phone number! The IMEI can be located on the box. The unlock instructions email should arrive within 24 hours. See post 716 for detailed unlocking instructions.

When you receive the email "AT&T MOBILE DEVICE UNLOCK REQUEST RECEIVED‏" from order at ecom.wireless.att-mail.com, your device is unlocked.

You can also check the status on the website:
https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/status.html

The status should say:
"Device Unlock Status - Completed"
"Current Status: Completed"

If you already activated the phone, try any of the following:

A. Purchase an unlock code from eBay or an online vendor you trust.
B. Request an unlock code as a non-AT&T customer and hope for the best.
C. Request an unlock code as an AT&T customer. These phones should not be under contract, and should qualify to be unlocked.
D. Request an unlock code over the phone and tell them that you are traveling overseas or that "these phones were purchased contract free, and the 60-day requirement imposes a 2 month contract."
E. Use an old AT&T SIM to unlock.
F. Use an existing AT&T phone number on same AT&T account.

Note: The unlock email generally means that your phone is unlocked and nothing else needs to be done to unlock it; just follow the instructions in the email to get the phone up and running on your chosen network.

3. I am an existing Verizon customer and want to stay on Verizon. What do I do?

1. Get IMEI off bottom of box.
2. Go to https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/
3. Check the “I Agree” box and hit continue.
4. Select Customer type: “Non-AT&T Mobility customer”
5. Enter the IMEI and it should show the model of your phone below the IMEI.
6. Enter Name, email address, and captcha and hit “submit.”
7. You should receive an email almost immediately entitled: "Unlock Request: Confirmation Email." Inside is your request number and a link you must follow within 24 hours in order to confirm your request.
8. You should get another email almost immediately entitled: "AT&T MOBILE DEVICE UNLOCK REQUEST RECEIVED." This email also has your request number and indicates that your device is unlocked.
9. Do full backup on existing phone in iTunes (for iPhone).
10. Put existing nano-SIM into new iPhone (use paperclip to open little hatch on right of phone).
10.1. If you need a new nano-SIM because your existing phone is not an iPhone 5/6, call Verizon or chat with them and tell them you got a new iPhone 6 and would like a nano-SIM card for it. They will mail it to you for free.
11. Power up and restore new iPhone from iTunes.
12. Call or chat with Verizon and tell them that you just got a new iPhone and need them to activate the SIM, give them the IMEI number.

4. What websites qualify for 3X points?

"Earn 3X points [...] on purchases made online at retail and travel websites."
"Retail websites are websites that sell goods directly to the consumer through an online website and include department store websites, specialty store websites, warehouse store websites and boutique websites. Travel websites are websites that allow you to book travel and include online travel agencies, hotel websites and airline websites."
Source: https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/cr...re-credit-card

"Beginning July 22, 2017, you'll only receive 1 point, not 3x points, for every $1 spent online on the purchase or reloading of gift cards or on rental and real estate payments."
All payments coded as "Miscellaneous Government Services" are no longer giving 3x as of April 2018.

5. As an existing AT&T customer, I get "PHONE OFFER HANDOFF ERROR" when attempting to select a phone to upgrade. What do I do?

If you have a problem matching this description by FT member sbc94523:

I currently have a mobile share for my family using my company corporate discount. When I login to ATT, I get sent to ATT Premier website.

I've read all the info in this thread and followed the steps but get the following error message when I select phone line for upgrade.

"An Error Has Occurred

There appears to be an unidentified problem with your request. Unfortunately, we can not continue with your request. To return to My Account, click the Manage My Account link."

If I try adding a new line, I get Citi promo option and able to get all the way to the purchase page.
then new FT member thereal25 discovered that you can use the following trick:

I have been having the same issue. I got it to work today by going to "My Accounts" from that "Handoff Error" screen and then clicking on "View Upgrade Options" on the line that I wanted the new phone. This triggered the offer screen to resurface, and then I was able to complete the order.
6. As an existing AT&T customer, I get "Invalid Item(service SKU) in device only upgrade package" when trying to check out. What do I do?

There is probably a Foundation Account Number (FAN) associated with your AT&T account as a result of a discount you get from your employer. See vvslavavv's solution in Post 354.

1. go to AT&T store [or call AT&T (611) and talk to supervisor if they attempt to transfer you to a different department]
2. ask someone to temporarily remove the FAN from your account
3. place the order through citi's link (it will use the regular retail site instead of the premier site)
4. ask the person to add the FAN account which has been removed back to your account.
You will also get an email to your work email with any steps required to re-add the FAN.

Thanks to TennisNoob for info on calling in.

7. How long does it take for the credit to appear?

YMMV. People have reported it showing up on the first statement that includes the phone charge and as many as two statements later. Sometimes it is necessary to fax in the receipt to Fax Number: 866-799-5591 in order to get it credited.

8. Do you need to be the primary user on an existing Family Plan in order to get the phone and credit?

No. See Post 414. Thanks jjmiller69.

9. Does this work with Plenti?

Yes. See Post 509. Thanks touristtrap.

Sign up for Plenti, (see the Plenti benefits page for AT&T).
Search for "link Plenti" when in your AT&T account and follow the link.
Receive: 1 point per dollar on phone purchase, 5000 for new service, and 500 for setting up paperless billing after linking your Plenti account. Note: Amounts may have decreased since initial report.

10. Can you use this to buy a tablet?

No. There are no tablets on the page linked to this offer.

11. Is there a hard pull for signing up for AT&T service?

Yes. For new AT&T customers, the hard pull is likely to be on Equifax, although it could be any of the 3 CRAs according to CSR. For existing AT&T customers of at least 6 months, there is no hard pull but likely a soft pull instead.

See "Hard Inquiry from Cellphone Providers, Citi/AT&T Credit Card":
http://www.doctorofcredit.com/hard-i...t-credit-card/

12. I'm a current AT&T Customer. Do I need to do anything special?

Nope. No sneakiness required here. The card application will ask if you're a current AT&T customer - you can say yes. And you can buy the phone for a line that's still under contract without any problem - that's kind of the point of this card.

13. Where is the link to buy the phone if you don't buy it upon signing up for the card?

After you get your credit card, activate it and register it on Citi or link it to your other Citi accounts. Under the Citi AT&T account, look for my offers. This offer is not instantly available, in my case, it took 30 minutes for it to show up. [Please feel free to edit this.]

14. Does the phone purchase offer expire?

The minimum spending requirement expires in 3 months. The phone purchase requirement is indefinite. It says "now or later".

"You may redeem the Phone Offer using the link at any time after your Card account opening."

"Offer is valid for a one time statement credit up to $650 for one eligible phone, is not transferrable and so long as your card account is open and current, does not expire."

Ah, I forgot about that one. I guess if I"m just doing purely MS it could work out. How many points does it give? You have to factor in the fees of the VGCs if that's what you use to MS online.

Can anyone with "AT&T Access" confirm if product change is possible to "AT&T Access More"?

During my latest attempt to PC, Citi rep cited that only way to get AT&T Access More is upgrading AT&T Access (free version). I trust flyer-talk community more than what rep was stating. Otherwise it seems PC option is gone for good.

I personally think this is one of the best cards out there. Spending online to me is really the way to go. Items show up at your door without having to waste travel time.

To essentially earn for 3.75% travel equivalent on most online purchases is pretty amazing. Hitting $10k per year to get an additional 10k pts worth $125 to more than cancel out the annual fee is just gravy. I always believe there's a reason why cards arent available any more.
From what I see on the market, there isnt a single other card from anyone else that matches this type of return for online purchases. Sure some transactions dont code as 3x but I test out transactions to see which don't.

That's why I think anyone with this card shouldnt ever dare to cancel it.

But to earn 5% equivalent or even much more on Amazon (through several Chase avenues, including 5x UR points transferable to several airlines 1:1) is even more amazing, and some people find they can buy almost anything they need to buy online through Amazon.

So it would seem to me, if someone is already using another card for even better return on Amazon, that for such a person it depends on how many things they buy online that they can't get on Amazon. And that's what might change drastically from one person to the next.

For me, it's only a few hundred a year most years I spend onliine on what I don't buy on Amazon -- and that's mostly from online camera store retailers which only seem to work via PayPal, if at all, with the AT&T Access cards for 3x/2x -- plus an occasional used CD on ebay -- and that level of spend doesn't seem to make a $95 AF card worth it for me for an extra few hundred points per year (at one extra point per dollar compared to the no AF card)..

Plus it depends on how they travel. Buying trip using credit card points through a portal can be a good value for coach, but it's not likely to compete with transferring points to the right airline if your goal is to fly business class (or above).

Does At&T Access More (by itself) allow you to transfer 1:1 to multiple airlines, or do you have to hold yet another $95/year card (Citi TYP Premier) to be able to do that? If only the latter, it might depend on whether you also hold the Premier as to whether the Access More card works for you. If you can only transfer Chase UR to airlines, but can only use Citi TYP through a booking portal, and you're mostly interested in business class (or above), then this card might have less for you than if you're mostly interested in coach for which the booking portal works well.

If you can only transfer Chase UR to airlines, but can only use Citi TYP through a booking portal, and you're mostly interested in business class (or above), then this card might have less for you than if you're mostly interested in coach for which the booking portal works well.
This card was great when it had a lot of transfer partners. Citi has gutted transfer options so I’m getting rid of this one and Prestige.

I don't understand this reference. The only transfer partner that left ThankYou Rewards is Hilton.

The ATTAM basically covers the $95af since you get 10k typ for spending $10k. 3x for "online retailers" is so crazy in today's world (prob not so much when it first came out years ago)

Hasn't been long. This card had a remarkably short life. Introduced in April 2015, discontinued by July 2016.

And I am still saddened by this! I loved my Citi Hilton Visa Card way better than the AMEX version(s). I wish Jud Linville the best in his future endeavors but I hope that this marks the beginning of Citi really updating and adding new features and transfer partners to the Thank You Rewards Program. Who ever they get to replace him, I he/she comes in with an "taking it back" attitude. Citi can re-claim AA as a exclusive co-brand cc partner and this is wishful thinking, but would be nice to take back Hilton. I have been with Citi for years and is still awaiting AA as an airline partner. I think Thank You Rewards are going to be the rewards to have soon.

Hilton is out of the running, since Hilton is now tied exclusively to Amex.

The only realistic hope is that Citi finds other hotel partners for TYP, at the very least some overseas hotel programs that don't have any credit card in the US (parallel to the main way they've chose most airline partners).

By far my favorite card. Unlimited 3x for online purchases? I've probably made close to 1.5 million TYPs running online arbitrage purchases through it.

For ebay and other retailers i can get 3x TYP online plus 6%+ in fuel rewards from a regional grocer. If I want to walk into the grocer's gas station for in person amazon gc i can do 3x typ (or amex edp) plus 6% in fuel. Going into the grocery store itself using OBC or 4500 on the EDP as well for ~5% or 4.5 MR. 5x is amazing at staples and OM, but if you can take advantage of using the fuel i think that has the edge. I also like MR over UR (both over typ). This of course requires you to live near one of these stores to take advantage of it. So you would need to live between Indianapolis and ~harrisburg.

Well in preparation for using it on the new iphone coming soon I SM'ed Citi for confirmation and they replied the credit expired in 2017... anyone have a copy of the T&C stating the offer does not expire until used? I had an SM confirming that awhile back but looks like Citi messages don't store that long..

Any success lately converting to the card either directly or from the regular Access? The reps still seem to be blocked by the computer when trying to directly convert when I call them.
