in addition to the " World MasterCard " being dropped from my Plat AA CARD description , I received the red alert on my Citi IPad app , that they will be sending me a new card .

Now to see if one shows up in preapproved so I can pull the trigger again .

It's funny that you mention this, because I just checked my Citi mobile app and did see an alert about receiving a new card. The desktop website, though? Nothing at all on it, outside of the name change.

Same thing for android. There's a red alert and it says a new card has been sent.

Still not offered in the PREQUAL cards so won't rush to apply again . Maybe after I get the card , or I can call and fake activate as all the numbers remain the same.

Maybe this will push the process along ?

I need to wait, just picked up 2 SPG biz cards and need to spend 10K on those and finish up 1 AA, 1 IHG and 1 BA card, too. Wife says she can spend that much easy....yikes.

I might try for two more AA cards in May, right before we go on vacation.

I'm probably not going to churn another one right now, but will be checking the pre-qualified page regularly just to see. I cancelled one of my WE cards a week ago, and don't know where I currently stand. I'll likely cancel this new WE card soon, too.

Is it just random whether or not AA plat shows up as pre-qualified? And why are you cancelling previous WE cards?

I don't think it's random. The Citi AAdvantage Platinum card usually shows up for me in the pre-qualified section shortly after my old W card is converted to WE.

I cancelled my first WE card because I don't want to risk not getting a decent retention offer at the 12 mo. mark (there are plenty of reports of no offers, or weak ones), and eating the $95 fee isn't worth it for the cards that just sit idle.

I'll either cancel this one in the near future, and then just wait 18 months from then to get another, or I'll take a chance on a 4th W card if it shows up in my pre-approval soon. If I didn't get the bonus, I can simply cancel the card and wait 18 months for the next, which I'm fine with. I've earned 180k bonus miles alone in about 4 months, so I really can't complain.

What about downgrading the card to a doublecash instead?

The tracker on my World card mysteriously disappeared after it got converted to WE! Haven't completed the spend yet. Hopefully, it is just that technical glitch of reporting the miles and they would eventually show up after a couple of weeks of completing the spend :)

That made me check my wife's but her tracker is still there. Do you have more than one account? I was initially looking at her first Citi AA card then realized I needed to switch using the drop-down box.

Yes, I have about 11 accounts on that ID (all AA, some Master, Some visa, gold, plat, amex etc.). Cumulative Miles are shown in that space for all the accounts, for this one, that box is blank :(

Hadd a WE recent conversion then prequel app failure. Got chat window, confirmed no bonus, no tracker, only sadness.

Have never had Gold anything before. Do we have data points on whether I can still churnish for new gold, one OR endlessly, in the face of the new despair?

Downgrading the card counts as a product change, so it'll reset that 18 month clock. I'm not really interested in any of the other cards, except for maybe the AAdvantage Gold.

So.... I just got a targeted offer with a 50k mile bonus. But I just applied for and cancelled (because I didn't get the mileage bonus) the same card a week ago. (I was just upgraded to Elite in Feb, so applied in March using link 15 for another AAdvantage Platinum).

Given I just cancelled this very card a week ago, what are the odds I get the miles (or the card) if I apply again?
