Transition-Related Notes
• Members are starting to receive Priority Pass Select cards in the mail. These are sent by Collinson via USPS, separately from the rebranded Prestige cards.
• There was a decimal rounding error in the ThankYou point accounting on October statements. Remove a 0 from each of the totals reported - it should then match
• Members who signed up prior to 10/18 still only receive a $250 airline credit for the year; if you previously used the $200 incidental credit, you can get another $50 in airline purchases reimbursed through December.
• If you signed up before 10/18/14 you are eligible to receive the 15% discount and companion benefits for a year after your signup date. Call Citi at 877-288-2484 and ask to speak with a travel specialist, rather than letting them send the information to Spirit Incentives for an email quote. There are mixed reviews as to the efficacy of this service.

135,000 ThankYou points will get you a $2160. American or US Air ticket or a $1795 ticket on any other airline.

135,000 ThankYou points transferred to American would get you a $20,000 first class flight to Asia on Cathay Pacific.
Typically FTers value miles between $.015 and $.02 per mile, so estimations like this are way off. Most people would NEVER pay $20,000 for an airfare, so the idea that being able to transfer TYPs to AA is resulting/will result in a ten-fold benefit is just plain nuts.

Fastest / cheapest way to generate flight points (want to get my 30+30k bonuses matched) before they disappear?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure flight points only transfer to TY points to match spending, not bonus TY points.

They used to match to bonus points as well, but now only match to spending.

You inferred a ten fold benefit. In practical terms the current example might approximate an economy ticket to Asia for me or at best economy plus. What direct transfers to airlines does is permit me to fly in the front cabin for the same number of ThankYou points. Value as you will.

It should be stated that there are also drawbacks: capacity controls, no RDM/EQM earned, etc.

There is also flexibility and value on the downside. I've redeemed TY points for flights to the Caribbean INSTEAD of American miles when I've found route sales. At 35k AA, anything with a cost below $560 uses less points for the same AA/US flight.

I don't offer any particular argument on valuation outside my own subjective value prop.

Wow, I somehow missed all of this. If I flew to Hawaii in early June on 2 tickets (purchased with Prestige), should I still get the ~10K flight points? And I wonder if they'll void the ones you have or if just new earning goes away?

This is awful for this card. If I can keep my (past) employee rate of $175/year, it keeps the 1.66x multiplier and the $200 airline credit annually, I'll keep it. Otherwise, See ya.

If it's anything like the Premiere card, they honored flight points as long as they were booked before a cut off date. As this isn't even announced yet, you should be fine. I just booked using my companion for next May, who knows if I'll get them. But $1100 for 2 from FL to Hawaii, I can't be mad about that even without the flight points.

Yeah, I'm going to try to get both my companion airfare purchases in for this year. My cardmember year is February, and I booked my Hawaii trip January, so I should still have my and my AU's companion pass. Definitely a sad day for the Prestige though. Companion airfare was amazing.

Just got off the phone with the CSR to activate the card and he provided a few more tidbits of information. Airport Angel will be replaced w/ PriorityPass (for primary & AU) and $200 airline fee reimbursement will be bumped up to $250

Still saying mid October for the change and everyone will get newly designed cards.

It seems improbable that Citi will be able to offer Priority Pass, rather than Lounge Club, but if they do it will surely be Priority Pass Select and exclude United Clubs.
