Transition-Related Notes
• Members are starting to receive Priority Pass Select cards in the mail. These are sent by Collinson via USPS, separately from the rebranded Prestige cards.
• There was a decimal rounding error in the ThankYou point accounting on October statements. Remove a 0 from each of the totals reported - it should then match
• Members who signed up prior to 10/18 still only receive a $250 airline credit for the year; if you previously used the $200 incidental credit, you can get another $50 in airline purchases reimbursed through December.
• If you signed up before 10/18/14 you are eligible to receive the 15% discount and companion benefits for a year after your signup date. Call Citi at 877-288-2484 and ask to speak with a travel specialist, rather than letting them send the information to Spirit Incentives for an email quote. There are mixed reviews as to the efficacy of this service.

Costco

Any speculation about what will happen to us when Costco goes Citi Visa?

I would say absolutely nothing except the ability to use the card at Costco.

My rationale is that AMEX didn't offer anything for Platinum cardholders at Costco, and this card is the analog to the Platinum for Citi.

Maybe a free Executive Membership but that would be pretty silly on Citi's part.

Edit: This is incorrect

Ah, sorry, my question was ambiguous.

I meant, any speculation about whether:

1. Citi will issue a Visa version of Prestige, or
2. Costco will accept any brand of Citi card (Visa or MC), or
3. We'll be sad when we go to Costco

There is a general Costco + Citi thread, but was wondering if we had any Prestige-centric insight here in this dedicated thread...

We won't be able to use Prestige at Costco.

This specific issue is addressed in the other thread. See, for example, post 39.

To avert #3, you can buy Costco gift cards online with your Prestige, then pay at Costco. It's annoying, but doable for those who didn't have Amex in the past.

Can you get multiple Prestige cards and get multiple bonuses?

Anyone know if you can have multiple Prestige cards and also earn multiple bonuses?

I'm wondering if this might be similar to the AA Executive card?

I haven't seen the in branch app, but the online app says this:

"Bonus ThankYou® Points can be earned by new Citi Prestige® cardmembers approved through this offer."

If it instead said "new accounts" it would be churnable, since every app is for a new account.

And if it said for "first time applicants for this card", it would not be churnable.

But "new cardmembers" is kind of vague. If I had to guess, I'd say new cardmembers means first time, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any data points?

I don't know if there are any zombie links around for TYPs cards. But the official online apps for both the TYP Preferred, and the TYP Premier, say the following:

"Bonus ThankYou Points not available if you have had a Citi ThankYou Preferred card opened or closed in the past 18 months."

"Bonus ThankYou points are not available if you have had a Citi ThankYou Premier card opened or closed in the past 18 months."

FWIW, the Prestige app does not have this language, just the "new member" part. Possibly, due to the high AF, and the higher spend requirements, they may be willing to allow churning in the same way they have, at least until now, with the AA EXEC card.

Anyone booked their last companion ticket recently? I'm seeing conflicting/ambiguous reports earlier in the thread, but not a lot of detail. Is it still handled through Spirit on the back end? Does it still have the strict cheapest fare rule? Any trouble with extra fees getting tacked on?

I'm looking at booking a trip to Europe this summer with it, and hoping to avoid Icelandair (and ideally use an AS partner).
