Transition-Related Notes
• Members are starting to receive Priority Pass Select cards in the mail. These are sent by Collinson via USPS, separately from the rebranded Prestige cards.
• There was a decimal rounding error in the ThankYou point accounting on October statements. Remove a 0 from each of the totals reported - it should then match
• Members who signed up prior to 10/18 still only receive a $250 airline credit for the year; if you previously used the $200 incidental credit, you can get another $50 in airline purchases reimbursed through December.
• If you signed up before 10/18/14 you are eligible to receive the 15% discount and companion benefits for a year after your signup date. Call Citi at 877-288-2484 and ask to speak with a travel specialist, rather than letting them send the information to Spirit Incentives for an email quote. There are mixed reviews as to the efficacy of this service.

Is she able to login to Spirit Incentives to take advantage of the companion pass and 15% off?

My mom just applied on Friday but we are unable to login to spirit incentives even though we already have a Prestige card. I was able to login on Friday, but since Saturday when I try to login, it says that I don't have any benefits as was communicated to me in August 2013, and references Citi Thankyou Premier. I previously did have 2 Thankyou Premier cards, and downgraded one to Thankyou Preferred and upgraded the other to Citi Prestige, but have not had any problems logging in until this weekend and I have been using the first 5 digits for Prestige Mastercard and not my old THankyou Premier Visa first 5 digits.

So I am curious if my mom will receive the companion benefits and also whether others are having trouble logging in?

Afaik Citi Chairman American Express accounts are the reason why the artwork for Chairman continues to be displayed. Perhaps eventually they will force convert them to Citi Prestige American Express or the MasterCard.

Presumably this is so they will remove the Airport Angel logo from the back?
And maybe they are going to send a carbon fiber card that was originally depicted in the marketing materials?

I am not - I signed up when the card was offered for $400 a year to all applicants. Will be interesting to see if I receive separate notification of the hike in the annual fee.

The bonus is points, not dollars. If you spend $10,000 you would earn 10,000 base points and the bonus would be 1,500 points, not $1,500.

I called Citi, and they said that my AF will stay at $350. That means my AF is going to be just $100, or $150 with AU, which is not bad, so no need to downgrade to Premier. They also said that I will earn Flight Points on a tickets purchased before October 18th. My companion ticket benefit is good till my anniversary date, which is in December. I also applied for an AU, and they said AU will also be eligible for companion ticket. They also said that the design is going to be changed with all the numbers on the back of the card, similar to Chase Sapphire Preferred or Discover It.

An interesting note for customers who applied after October 18, 2013 is that while the companion pass and 15% off benefit should exist until your 1 year anniversary, rereading the terms & conditions, Citibank indicates that card members will need to call 1-877-288-CITI after October 18, 2014 to continue to use these benefits since Spirit Incentives will no longer be handling the program.

As such, I am wondering whether these benefits are really worth it because we will not be able to see inventory, and the Citi representatives may have access to a larger network of providers than Spirit Incentives did which would mean airlines like Spirit might show up more frequently since it is supposedly based on the lowest fare available for the dates selected.

My wife and I are each Citigold. She applied last week in a branch in Chicago and the fee was $350. $50 to add me as AU. Cards came in a ridiculous fancy box in about 3 days (I was out of town, so not sure exactly).

In addition to 30K signup bonus for minimal spend, there's 30K more for I think $10K spend in 12 months. Don't know if this is a Citigold thing or a branch offer thing. May knock that mostly out paying property taxes online in a couple days.

By the way, how/when have the flight points been credited? Trying to understand how Citi actually knows you have taken the flight you bought with the card.

I got approved of the card and send a message asking about matching the in branch bonus offer (30k+30k bonus points, $350AF). citi replied that I need to show them the offer. A while ago someone posted here that they were able to successfully match. Did you have to send in a picture of the offer? I have a front pic of the offer. Would that work?

or should I just wait a few days/ weeks and call in to get some other rep to match?

They do not. Flight Points post at the end of the billing cycle following the cycle in which the first flight was scheduled. Schedule information is transmitted with the purchase of an airline ticket, and will appear on the PDF statement. Note that only the first four segments are transmitted. If you book a more complex itinerary you will need to submit a manual claim.

There is an entire thread discussing this feature:

Thanks. A dishonest person could have fun with this, it seems to me, no? Likely discussed to death.
