Transition-Related Notes
• Members are starting to receive Priority Pass Select cards in the mail. These are sent by Collinson via USPS, separately from the rebranded Prestige cards.
• There was a decimal rounding error in the ThankYou point accounting on October statements. Remove a 0 from each of the totals reported - it should then match
• Members who signed up prior to 10/18 still only receive a $250 airline credit for the year; if you previously used the $200 incidental credit, you can get another $50 in airline purchases reimbursed through December.
• If you signed up before 10/18/14 you are eligible to receive the 15% discount and companion benefits for a year after your signup date. Call Citi at 877-288-2484 and ask to speak with a travel specialist, rather than letting them send the information to Spirit Incentives for an email quote. There are mixed reviews as to the efficacy of this service.

It sure helped me decide which one I'll get. Renewal time Citi Prestige here I come. I've had the Premier card for 2 1/2 yrs so 6 months I'll change, maybe sooner. I've been changing to AA this year anyways. Now where will I go with my 200K+ TYP's at 1.6 on AA. Maybe it will be real soon lol. ^

Are you CitiGold? I paid $350 as CitiGold, hope it will stay the same. That means my annual fee is going to be just $100, which is even lower than Premier. My anniversary is in December. I will go ahead and apply for AU as well, and get 2 companion tickets before Oct 18th.

Got this in an email today. Looks like the communications are starting to go out on the changes:

We’re pleased to inform you that we will be updating your Citi Prestige Card. Some of your existing benefits will no longer be offered, but they’ll be replaced with new benefits to ensure you continue to enjoy a world-class cardmember experience.

What’s going away:

The following benefits are available through October 18, 2014, and will be discontinued after that:

        Existing Relationship Bonus:

          What’s coming soon:
As of October 19, 2014, you’ll earn ThankYou Points per $1 spent on purchases faster than before:

A simpler way to earn your Relationship Bonus:

Plus, take advantage of enhanced exclusive travel benefits:

We hope you share our excitement about the new benefits coming your way. Changes go into effect automatically starting October 19, 2014, and your account number and APRs remain the same.**

Complimentary 4th night for any hotel stay with no restrictions on the number of times you can use this benefit
As written this is an appealing benefit for those who stay at hotels longer than a weekend, because it does not appear to be limited to participating properties, although we probably will forfeit frequent guest credit and benefits in many instances:

Hotel Benefit — You will enjoy a complimentary fourth night with no blackout dates, when you book four consecutive nights at any hotel booked by a personal travel advisor designated by MasterCard (“designated travel advisor”). Rate quoted must be equal or lower than best rate available at hotel’s website. To receive your complimentary night you must:

                          1) Make a reservation for a minimum consecutive four-night stay by contacting the Citi Prestige Concierge to book directly with a designated travel advisor.

                          2) Fully pay for your stay with a Citi Prestige Card. Hotel-imposed fees and incidental guest charges are the cardmember’s responsibility. The value of the free night will be the actual rate on that applicable fourth night of the reservation, even if it is different from the rate on other nights. You will be charged the total cost of the stay at checkout and will receive a credit to your statement for the cost of the free night within two billing periods following the month in which travel was completed.

This benefit can only be used by each primary account. Please visit citi.com/citiprestige for the most current details in the terms and conditions section.

" Any points earned through October 18, 2014, will remain eligible for transfer to your ThankYou® Member account once the matching ThankYou® Points are earned from purchases."

So any flights that are already booked and happen after Oct 18th, will not be grandfathered into earning flight points? For instance, I have travel booked with my companion ticket next March..

They will earn Flight Points. The body of the email states:

Flight Points will be earned on airline tickets purchased with your card by October 18, 2014. Any points earned through October 18, 2014, will remain eligible for transfer to your ThankYou® Member account once the matching ThankYou® Points are earned from purchases.

One other item is that the e-mail reads:

"Look for your new Citi Prestige® Card to arrive shortly after your new benefits go into effect starting October 19, 2014."

Presumably this is so they will remove the Airport Angel logo from the back?

Yes, but they also say that a separate membership card will be issued to you and your authorized users by November 2014 for access to Priority Pass lounges along with the conditions of use. It sounds as if there could be a gap in coverage.

Been lurking for a while, and finally have decided to register and post now that I have a question...

What exactly is a relationship bonus? 15% for Citigold members as of the time of the changes... is this a TYP reward based on 15% of spending for the year? So if I spend $10,000 on this card, I will earn $1,500 worth of points at the end of the year, in addition to whatever I have already earned? That doesn't seem right?
