Just applied online and approved after calling in. Have a number of other Citi ccs. 5k line but moved credit from older Citi cc to increase this limit. Last applied in August.

Why are people scared of $350 AF ($450-$100SC) for 75k miles?

From a MS perspective it's 60k starwood points (=75k AA), which is just over 119 VRs or $470 in activation fees

With the cards it's cheaper with AC access to boot. I'm in at the end of Feb if it's available

The AF is $450, not $350, although I agree with you: the benefits of this card outweigh the cost.

Thought there was a $100 statement credit? Essentially bringing it to a net $350 AF

True

I've been paying $350 a year for AC membership so what's not to like?

fulthrust7 Jan 24, 2014 11:55 pm

what's the story w the 100K offer and link (without an attached app or landing page) above?

Is the $100 SC for any purchases or AAdvantage/AA purchases (like amex plat)?

TOMFORD Jan 25, 2014 6:28 am

Ahhhh want 100K! Any news on that?

The only "question"/concern I have is your information regarding the "once every 8 days, twice every 65"...that was true 8/25. Is it still true?

The 8 and 65 day rules have been well tested on various other Citi cards and generally hold up. They are not set in stone, as always YMMV.

In general, yes. Those rules still hold up on almost all Citi cards except the AA cards (or else we'd all still be churning!).

Of course. Those rules do not mean that you can repeatedly churn any one card (although I just might give this one a shot) :D but rather that you should wait at least that number of days since your last and second-to-last apps. That aspect of the rules does still seem to apply to the AA cards.

You and me both ;)

Literally 2 days before this 75k offer pulled up I applied for this card. Got pending and called and they approved me for $6,500.

What do you think the odds are of getting approved for the 75k card in 8 days? :)
This card seems to be a different ballgame.

Odds: not great. Reward if it works: 75K. If you can afford a wasted pull, I'd love to have a data point.

My statement closed yesterday and, assuming my 65,xxx miles post tomorrow, I'll be cancelling this week. If all goes well, I'll likely give the best offer a shot 35+ days after that.

Wow this looks great. Even the 60K for more reasonable spend of 5K is a great deal. Personally 7500 in 3 months is probably stretching it - although 3 rent payments through williampaid would just about do it if I wanted to pay the fee. One question - does anyone have any experience getting the 2nd year's fee reduced/waived? I don't fly often enough to really need AC access, so the main attraction of this card would be the bonus...
