Applied for both Visa and Mastercard versions one after another using separate browsers. Both applications were defered. I already have 2 Citi AA and 2 other Citi Preferred (converted from other Citi cards). I decided not to call. 3 days later I received 2 emails confirming that my applications were approved and 5 days after that I received both cards (a Visa and an MC) in the mail.

Nope.

I redeemed TY points in 2011 and haven't received a 1099 and didn't expect to receive one either!

I applied for the MC + Visa using the two browser trick, and was declined for both. They said my score wasn't good enough. Weird, considering that my score is good and that Citi sent me several targeted offers for the same cards (with a lesser bonus). I tried calling once, they said they couldn't do anything about it Has anybody been in a similar situation, and eventually, gotten approval?

Just applied for the Visa through a landing page offering 50K points and got a generic "We are reviewing your application" message.

This is my first application in about six months, and my credit is excellent. Perhaps the delay comes from the fact that I got two Citi AA cards last August, and now have a lot of credit with Citi across three existing cards.

I'll post an update once I get a decision.

Citi Premier Transferable to any airlines ?

Noob question:- Are these points transferable to any airlines (at least the major ones) -- like CO, UA, DL ?

I don't think the pre-approved offers mean much as far as credit worthiness is concerned. My partner has horrible credit history (bankruptcy, plus owes taxes to the IRS) and has received Citi AA 40K offers plus one Citi Thank you Preferred 50k after first purchase some time ago.

I have CIti Prefered card, 0% interest 96% utilized credit line. Paid off total today and the statement closes on March 5th. How many days to wait for the '0' balance to show up in the credit report. Will waiting improve the chances of approval of the new application?

The new balance is reported to the credit bureaus after each statement closes. I'm not sure how fast they update it but I've checked mine a few days after the statement closed and the new balance was showing.

It definitely would improve your chances, but hard to say how much. I always pay my balances before the statement hits, to keep utilization down, if I'm going to be applying for new cards soon.

Let us know if you get the bonuses for each card, that would be interesting and useful.

Data Point

I did the double browser trick for Visa / Mastercard. Here is my datapoint:

I had to call in for each card, but were approved. Both qualified for the bonus supposedly.

Citi just sent me a letter with the acceptance for both. On the first Approval, it says my credit score from Equifax was 757, and the second one showed Equifax at 750. Interesting that one extra inquiry / account would lower me 7 points.

Shouldnt the double app only count as one inquiry?

So after a couple of weeks after applying through this link I got a letter requesting an IRS 4506T form before they could proceed with the application because they were unable to verify some information. It also says that if I submit the form they can pull an additional report. I called and got a rather unhelpful rep who just repeated the information in the letter. Has this happened to anyone? I wonder if I entered something incorrectly during the multiple browser method, any advice? Thanks!

I applied last week and called today and was told that my SSN does not match. I already have 4 other CITI cards. They said they cannot fix it and recommended applying again!!
