  5. I got the 60K card and bonus but when I finished the spend on my second 60K card I did not get the bonus. What happened?

[1] What are the most current working links?

There is a standard offer for 50K points after $1K spend in 4 months. (No landing page is available for this offer; lnik taken from wiki for http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/citi-...amex-citi.html.)

There are no known 60K offers available. The most recent one expired in late September 2014.

[2] Is this card churnable?
In the past, this card has been easily churnable. However, in December 2014 Citi began inserting language into some applications and landing pages disqualifying current Hilton Visa cardholders & requiring an 18-month wait from the date of the previous card's cancellation. The application link listed above does not include this restriction, and FTers have confirmed that they have been approved through this application despite being current or recent holders of another Citi Hilton card.

[3] How frequently can I apply for these cards?
You can only apply for ONE Citi card in a week or TWO in two months (60 days). To be safe, it is frequently suggested to wait 8+ days between ANY two Citi applications and 65+ days until your third Citi application of ANY kind. These are rolling dates, so you have to wait at least 60 days (65+) from your second application to your 4th applications, and so forth.

Example:
Day 0 - Citi HHonors Card #1
Day 8 - Citi AA Personal Card
Day 65 - Citi AA Business Card
Day 73 - Citi HHonors Card #2
Day 130 - Citi TY Card

[4] Do I have to close my previous card before reapplying?
Not if you use the application link above. As stated above, in December 2014 Citi began introducing new application pages requiring an 18-month wait since cancellation of the prior card.

Note that when you close an account, Citi may not "free up" the credit limit from that card for as long as 6 months. So if you're going to apply within 6 months, it's better to not cancel beforehand.

[5] I got the 60K card and bonus but when I finished the spend on my second 60K card I did not get the bonus. What happened?
There appears to be a problem with Citi crediting you with both bonuses but Hilton not crediting the second bonus because their system sees it as a duplicate.

You need to open up a case, preferably with Hilton, and explain that you have two separate cards (feel free to explain one is for business and one for personal if they ask why you have multiple cards and you feel like explaining). You also need to diligently check back with them and make sure that they do not close the case as you already got the bonus.

This is very much a YMMV situation. Depending on who you talk to and where, this can be a relatively short process or a particularly unpleasant and long one. Best advice: Be nice to the CSRs and get them on your side or HUACA until you find someone useful.

For some people it may be worth getting the 50K card instead, possibly trying to "bump the bonus" to 60K and getting it as a 10K adjustment instead.

No. Hilton used to have a "mutual account" which both husband and wife could contribute to and withdraw from, but they stopped issuing new ones about 10 years ago. Mutual Accounts in place then were grandfathered, and are still being used.

they purged mine long ago for whatever reason.

Wife now has a single account and well, she just applied for and instantly got this card.

Gold though. So I dunno what that means for her in terms of points to come. Also, I guess she could have considered trying for the AA 75k card again, but had been turned down in the recent past so maybe not.

Wife also has HH Amex and is a Diamond member with just over 200k points.

You could transfer points from one account to another for $25 per 10,000 points. Not a great deal, but an option at least.

Or you could just try to book award nights back to back for a longer stay (e.g. husband books first 4 nights, wife books last 3). That's what I'm planning to do. When I check in, I'll see if we can continue in the same room despite the separate bookings.

In such a plan i am equally curious if hh would extend benefits if say wife is diamond status and hubby has points but little or no status

Just make sure that wife's name is also on the reservation and you should be fine. Of course, the wife would have to actually be present for her status to be recognized.

Just a quick data point - my wife applied using the link in this thread, was not targeted previously, was approved, and we just received a welcome email from Citi indicating that we will "earn 50,000 Hilton HHonors Bonus Points when you make $1,500 in purchases in the first 6 months of account opening!"

Nice to have the in writing. I was planning on fulfilling the spend quickly (4 mos, just in case we got the 40k offer), but I'll prioritize other cards with quicker timeframes now that it's clearly in print. Took ~2 weeks after application for the email to arrive (and about 4-5 business days after the card arrived).

And, her HHonors account indicates silver status, even though the card isn't activated yet.

They had purged our Mutual Account a few years ago too. I asked why and they said it had been inactive for more than a year, which was not true. I asked them to identify any period of more than 12 months when there was no activity, and when they couldn't do it, they restored the Mutual Account.

The Mutual Account is really handy since we qualify for bonuses and credit cards individually, then dump everything into one HHonors account. Unlike airlines, we only need 1 reservation at a time.

Was this part of the approval email? I just received an approval email with credit limit, etc... but no mention of the signup bonus....

Funny, I was just PM'ed about this by another FT'er. Here was my reply answering the above (and more) about the timing:

She received pending on application (though it was the good Citi pending, where you can add options which almost always means ultimate approval). We didn't call or expedite.

8 calendar days (5 business) later, she received email confirmation that she was approved.

The card was received 4 calendar days later (4 business days).

3 days (1 business day) after that she received the email indicating the 50k.

If I had to interpret it, I'd guess it was driven by the card issuance and followed as part of a series of welcome emails within the week after the card was mailed.

The email started with the language: "Welcome to your new Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Visa® Signature Card."

I just received the citi gold cards today for wife + self. Again, she's the primary, I'm the auth user. She's already diamond at HH, but the points always help.

Our card: $5k Cr lim, gold cards. No mention of offer or annual fee anywhere.

I call to activate a card and this takes care of both. I then call CS and a nice guy named Jansen answers and tells me after a very brief hold that yes indeed if we spend $1500 in 6 months we get 50k HH points. And there is no annual fee on this card.

Cool.
Will just try to get $2k coins with it or something for the spend soon.

Oh, and it is a good idea with citicards to get your cash advance limit set to zero and get them to confirm it was done in writing. It may not be the final solution to problems but it cannot hurt. Citi still seems to be the only card that lets you do that.

Mrs User Name took delivery of hers 4 weeks ago. One dose of metal and the remainder rafting down a South American river and she was all set - points posted as expected.
