Choice Hotels: Can I use any Special Rate Code w/o ID ?
I have a couple of organization special rate codes that provide 15% & 20% off the standard rate at Choice Hotels. As such, they are better than the 10% AAA discount. Will I be asked to provide proof of membership in these organizations at check-in? Thanks. :)

Probably not.
Try the Internet User rate. That seems to come in cheaper than any of the others I've tried so far, including AAA, GIV, etc. |
I like Smarter Living's SOS savings:

It probably depends on the Terms and Conditions associated with the rate code. My company has a corporate rate with Choice, and they specifically allow us to use it for personal travel too. I always carry my ID just in case though ^

Thank you for your suggestions. :)

Didn't work for me in Europe thought I'm not sure if it's for US only.
Meanwhile anyone have other codes to share? |

Meanwhile anyone have other codes to share? There are lots of Choice codes out there on the web, but they each are for a different organization. If you want to use a code that's for an organization you don't belong to but you find the code out on the web, that's up to you. But for it to work, each person has to find their own code out there on the web and not everyone use the same code. So do a web search and you'll fnd some. (For some reason, a large subset of them are for Farm Bureaus in various areas!) And then I suggest you remember which organization's code you used, because a clerk may ask you about it (it comes up on their folio). In my expereince, they won't ask for an ID card or anything, they may just strike up a conversation, so be prepared not to sound stupid :) , in case that makes them doubt you should be using that code. |
I can attest that the Farm Bureau in my state (Iowa) does offer a 20% discount. I checked 2 properties- certainly not an exhaustive survey but 2 I would stay at the most and found the FB rate was cheaper to the point my FB membership which anyone can join and cost me $40, would be paid back in 6 stays or less. Plus u get 20% off best available rate at Wyndham. BTW, they also give 15% or more discount off AAA membership. Like sdsearch said I will not publish the code. For a lousy 40 bucks you can save some $$. I only bring that example up as I get my health insurance thru them.
