Exchange points Radisson to Choice - Popup says Choice account is disabled + contact
Hey there,
I'm having a frustrating issue. I just linked my Radisson and Choice accounts in the points exchange and when I go a step further to exchange, I get a popup that my Choice account is disabled and to contact Choice.
I called Choice, and as nicely as I can put it, support was unhelpful. They said everything from I need to call Radisson (popup said to contact Choice) to they don't see the accounts linked on their end and are unable to help. I politely asked to speak to a supervisor and was having a hard time understanding them but I think they said that it takes a while for it to link internally. Does that sound correct?
I've already spent a hour + with no resolution. Has this happened to anyone else and if you could please nudge me in the right direction to get this resolved please.
Edit: Both accounts show up on the first section of the exchange screen with the correct account numbers (first and last of numbers with the middle x'ed out).
Thank you!

Was your Choice account newly opened? Or an existing Choice account?
Do the 2 accounts have EVERYTHING matched, i.e. Name, Email Address, phone number, whatever in the profiles, match with each other?
If it is a newly set up Choice account, did you set it up independently or using the link in the Radisson email to set it up?
The link in the Radisson email would automatically copy almost all personal profile info from Radisson to Choice, except a few areas, I notice it is the telephone number and the zip code. Telephone number is optional in Radisson account. Zip code does not copy over when I test it.
I haven't registered the Choice account yet. Choice account the telephone number is required. I suspect I need to add a telephone number in the Radisson side so the info copied over would not be missing a required field.
However, the online edit function is not working. Despite the instruction said to request an email which would contain the link to log in account profile, and it would enable you to edit profile (Except Name), the link only led to the general screen and after log in you are at the Overview, not the Profile screen. When you open the Profile screen, it is not editable - with the same instruction to request an email for such function... I ended up using online email form to send in my request and see what will happen.

Thanks for the response. Both accounts are 10+ years old and I'm certain that all info is the same. I did however have to change my address on both programs before I started all this (edit worked fine for me this evening). I tried multiple browsers and even my phone with no luck. There is a thread about this down towards the bottom of the first page that I missed before making this post that some others had the same issue. I'll try again and update.

I have the same "disabled" error even though Choice reps say it looks OK. They are supposedly working on it.
There is another thread for this and similar issues, but maybe its title should be revised: Trouble transferring Radisson

Thanks for the data points. Yes, Choice support kept saying my account was active and nothing was wrong on their end.
Thank you!

Radisson Americas sent me an email a few days ago which said:
• Complimentary Breakfast for Two: Members with Diamond status, the top tier in Choice Privileges, enjoy complimentary breakfast at Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, and Park Plaza hotels.
• Your Extras: Enjoy member benefits with your very first stay. Choose from a selection of gift cards or Choice Privileges points when you check in for a stay that includes at least one Sunday–Thursday night at participating brands.
• Elite Welcome Gift of 250 Points: Gold, Platinum, and Diamond members receive 250 points per stay as a thank you.
• Sweet Spots: Enjoy discounted reward nights at featured hotels throughout the year.
Radisson Rewards Americas will begin integrating with Choice Privileges on July 18, 2023, and you will no longer be able to earn, redeem or transfer Radisson Rewards Americas points. But don’t worry, if you have points in your account, they will be transferred to your Choice Privileges account within a few weeks of this date.
You can continue to earn, redeem, and transfer your Radisson Rewards Americas points just like you do today until July 18, 2023.
More Details:
Point Balances
Any points you may have in your Radisson Rewards Americas account will be automatically transferred to your Choice Privileges account. For every two Radisson Rewards Americas points in your account on July 18, 2023, you’ll receive one Choice Privileges point. Points will be reflected in your Choice Privileges account.
Tier Status and Elite Night Credits
If you have a higher status in either program, you’ll receive that status in Choice Privileges. We’ll also combine any Elite Night Credits you may have in your Radisson Rewards Americas account with any you may have in your Choice Privileges account. If your total Elite Night Credits are enough to move you into a higher tier, you’ll receive that tier in Choice Privileges.
Reservations and Award Night Bookings
If you’ve already made a points-eligible reservation for a stay that occurs after July 18, 2023, you’ll earn Choice Privileges points for that stay. We’ll also honor any Award Nights already booked—there is no need to reconfirm your reservations.
More Benefits**
Enjoy these exciting Choice Privileges benefits:

Will that benefit be limited to just Radisson Americas hotels, or will it also apply to the EMEAA/Old World Radisson and Park Plazas?

I am inclined to agree with you on one or both of those, but I guess we will find out for sure at some point. FWIW, the Radisson EMEA program also now offers breakfast for 2 as part of the benefits for its published highest elite tier status.

Transfer between Radisson USA and Radisson International confirmed to end 7/18/23 when Radisson USA and Choice programs are to merge. Up until now we all assumed this functionality might end but this is the first official email confirmation I have gotten.
Transfer your points before 18 July, 2023
Dear XXXX,,
We would like to inform you that due to the closure of the Radisson Rewards Americas program, the transfer points functionality between programs would be disabled as of 18 July 2023. If you are looking to transfer points from the programs in the next few days, please make sure to do it before the closing date.
We would like to express our sincerest appreciation for your continued trust and loyalty. We remain at your entire disposal if you have any further questions.
Kind Regards,
The Radisson Rewards Team

I also can't transfer R.Americas points to my Choice account, and I'm blocked from this offer to create a new one, adding insult to injury.
Due to these integration problems, I hope Choice grants 1 point to mark accounts active for 18 months. I can imagine RA points getting transferred to a stale Choice account and vaporizing within a short time. Also Radisson Americas had a 24 month expiration policy and some may not even notice the difference.
Join Choice Privileges by July 17 to transition your Radisson Rewards Americas account and earn 500 Choice Privileges bonus points to jump start your new membership. Plus, earn an additional 5,000 Choice Privileges points on your first Choice Privileges points-eligible stay between June 26 and September 30, 2023.
At integration, we will automatically transfer any Radisson Rewards Americas points and Elite Night Credits to your account as well as your tier status to your new Choice Privileges account. You will see these updates reflected in your Choice Privileges account on that day. If you are already a Choice Privileges member, no new enrollment is needed. We will automatically transition your Radisson Rewards Americas membership to your existing Choice Privileges account upon integration.

You can't even do this online anymore. I transferred to RA a while ago but the website now says to call.

1. Are you saying you can't transfer Radisson International points to Radisson USA? This is odd considering I just did it this morning online and the transfer was immediate.
2. Or are you saying you can't transfer Radisson USA points to Choice? If this is the case....what's the point considering the accounts will be merged and points from Radisson USA will transfer to Choice on July 18 anyway?

I'm confused!

2. Yes I can't do this either.
2b. The point is I've been trying to do this for a while and wanted to use points for an April stay but could not.
Yes I can wait another 2 weeks but don't have confidence my Choice account will be OK. Why does it say the account has been disabled but reps say it is not? Why does it show an incorrect November expiration date? I don't want my account to vaporize so I want everything fixed.
In the very beginning they should have just put out the current offer to create and link a new account in one shot. Instead some of us dug up our old Choice account to link and who knows what's wrong.

I just set up my Choice account "successfully" per the Choice site. When I tried to transfer 1K test from Radisson, it said account must be registered first. It provided a link which brought me to Radisson log in - once successfully logged in, Radisson is linked to Choice, because now the Choice Site shows the balance in the Radisson account.
BUT instead of either 0 or auto-filled the full balance, the Choice site has an auto-filled number that was 1/2 of the Radisson balance ... In any case I did not want to do it in one go, in any kind of loyalty program transfer I always do a 1K test first. So I did the 1K test transfer, and I got the popped up window to describe the transfer, i.e. 1000 become 500. Confirmation email will be sent. Would you like to continue? Underneath it is a red bar - YES, EXCHANGE. So I clicked that.
A new popped up now displayed in Green letters -
"You successfully completed this exchange! Please allow up to 24 hours for points or miles to be reflected in your Choice Privileges loyalty account"
A confirmation email has been sent to (the email address in profile). At the bottom of the Popped Up is the red bar with OK. Clicked that it brought me back to Choice account.
However! The confirmation email has NOT come, it has been 20 min or more since that Popped Up "successful transfer" window. I wonder if the confirmation email ever comes?
For those who have successfully transfer pts from Radisson to Choice, how long it takes for the confirmation email to come? and how long the points to show up?
I am unsure whether the Radisson balance would automatically go to Choice - based on the wording in the email, it seems you have to do the transfer yourself?
Because it says "once after July 18th, you no longer be able to do the transfer from Radisson to Choice" -
WHAT IS THE POINT OF THAT, IF Radisson balance would automatically go to Choice?
UPDATE
Still not receive confirmation email on the 1K test transfer, but when I logged in the Choice account, the transfer in 500 Choice Pts are posted. Thankfully it works.
I feel bad for those who have existing Choice accounts which have caused troubles for some of them. New Choice Account like mine, seems to function as it should.
Good Luck to everyone in this process of account merger.

I simply do not understand the members freaking out about needing to transferring Radisson US points to Choice as that should happen automatically when the programs merge. Based on some of the comments here, I however decided to try a transfer between Radisson US and Choice just for the heck of it and it worked without issue. I did NOT get a confirmation email but the points showed in my Choice account an hour or so later.
So my references within the last day:
1. Transfer from Radisson International to Radisson US processed without issue and points showed up almost immediately.
2. Transfer from Radisson US to Choice processed without issue and points showed up in an hour or so. (my Choice account was created years ago and had a zero balance it in it before the transfer so it's not like it had seen any activity but it certainly was an active account)
For me it definitely seems like it is working as intended and I am going to trust that the remainder or my Radisson US points will thus transfer over to Choice on the 18th.
