Choice Rolling at MFA?
Appears to be some good news. Choice has rolled out MFA on some actions. My wife's account was asked to change username to email and then verify the email. We were trying to potentially book a room this morning and Choice has an MFA prompt to put in a code that was sent to the verified email. The email didn't come. So, the good news, MFA is being rolled out. Bad news, doesn't look like it is fully working yet. We tried to access her Profile in her account and MFA also fired, but the email also didn't come.
Interesting, when I login to my account, no prompt to change username to email and start using MFA. She has more points than me, so maybe Choice is testing this first with customers that have more points. |
For me, it said that I'll have to update my account, but it had a "later" button, which I selected.
But when I returned and had to log in again a few minutes after that, the "later" button was gone, and I had to change my account at that very moment to be able to proceed. |
Noticed this yesterday while trying to book one of my usual Choice redemptions — this time landing me a value of c. 2.7 cents per redeemed point.
I’m going to miss using my old login info, but I also understand why Choice felt the need to shake up things this way. |
"MFA"
Sorry. What does "MFA" mean? And what does "...MFA fired..." mean? Thank you.
ETA: For those who didn't know, such as myself: "Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is an authentication method that requires the user to provide two or more verification factors to gain access to a resource such as an application, online account, or a VPN." One of my banks has it, but I didn't know the term. Sorry again. |
