Exchanging ChoicePrivilege Points to United
Hello Everyone - I have a question I hope someone can answer..
I've been trying to exchange 5,000 Choice points to my United MileagePlus account. It asks me to link my account with Points.com and after the attempt it then displays the message "That email address has already been used, please visit your Choice Privileges account and update your profile"(see attached photo). This makes no sense, as my ChoicePrivileges profile is already up to date with my current email address and no changes were ever made to it. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here, or is it a system flaw with CP's site? I've tried emailing them THREE different times with no response. Thank you in advance and everyone stay healthy. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...894824f6a8.jpg |

Hope the info above helps. [I should probably change my Points.com account to update my email address to my newer one but it appears this can't be done online at Points.com. I guess I will have to call or email them to get this updated.] |
Dado, thanks so much for your reply. I actually changed the email I had in my Choice profile so that it would be different than my Points account, and that seemed to do the trick -- I was able to make the exchange.
Thanks again for your help - take care! |
The Choice to United bonus is live now, but like last year, I am unable to transfer.
The accounts are linked, as I can see my United balance on the Choice site, but when I try to transfer I get a "Oops something went wrong" "fraud status not success or pending but failure" message. Last year the link was not working, but that issue seems to be resolved now. I wouldn't be surprised if I am on some 'no transfer' list since I bought the points via the Daily Getaways. I have done transfers in the past, but not since buying from Getaways. I have no trouble booking with the points, so they know it is a legit account. Does anyone else have trouble transferring when they have mostly points acquired from Daily Getaways? |
I am new to Choice hotels, as I was transferred to the brand from the Radisson merger.
I read on the Choice website that the Choice to United ratio is 5000 points to 2000 miles at the moment. Is this the usual transfer ratio or is this a special promotion that only comes around rarely? With a decent number of Choice points transferred from Radisson, I am not sure if I will use them at Choice hotels since the points redemption vs. paid rate seems not very good, usually less than 0.5c per point. Just trying to see if the Choice Points to United miles transfer is a better option in my situation. |

Posting of Promotional Miles: At the conclusion of the promotion, all miles earned by each member from Qualifying Activity will be multiplied by 30% to determine the eligible bonus up to a maximum of 25,000 bonus miles. Bonus miles will be credited into the member's account on or before January 31, 2024. |
Does anyone have a contact at Choice who might help with my issue?
I was never able to transfer during the United promotion. When I tried the Choice “link” button to add United, I got a message that “your account has been disabled.” It had not, as reps confirmed, and it had activity. The error happens before I’m even asked for a UA number. Same happens when I click the button to add Southwest and Alaska. Reps had me verify matching email and personal info and tried creating a new Choice account and moving points. None of this worked. I am able to add Air Canada but that is the only program that does not use Points.com. For that reason I suggested they discuss the issue with Points.com. The “disabled” part might be on their side. I’ve been pursing this for 10 months with no resolution, via phone, email and IM on FT. |
