I'm curious how this will work for those with elite gold status with the credit card. Will up to 9 nights roll over even if they didn't hit the 10-night requirement, or, if they did, will 9 nights roll over anyways since they don't "need" the nights to attain gold status?

I'm rolling over 4+ years of Wyndham Diamond status (currently at 214 nights)

I had 5+ months in Choice properties last year and rolled over bupkis

To some of us, 39 nights isn't squat Choice and it's part of why you lost my business this year

I’m at 262 Choice nights. Bummer you can’t rollover more than 39.

so far choice diamond got me a downgrade to a smoking room bc that’s all they had left at one property.

also twice I was told by a hotel that they had no rooms left. Which in Choices program means go book somewhere else and we will give you nothing as compensation.

this is the worst elite program hands down.

Absolutely! My 31 Choice nights this year are almost exclusively double-tap, IE currently in a room at a Wyndham or IHG property on per-diem and had to make a quick run to somewhere that Choice was the most convenient to book on expenses, so I'm getting points at both. I do have one triple tap weekend + airport parking X2 this year. That was a long weekend.

If I'm lucky, I go home in a week @ 214 Wyndham, 31 Choice, 72 IHG, and 9 Bonvoy. If I'm not lucky, I'lll make IHG Spire @ 75+ and hope I get home before Christmas

In a world of constant reward program enhancements, this is refreshing!

Of course, keep in mind that with the same reward booking window now for all members, there's no longer that much actual difference between status levels.

So if someone is a Platinum with 19 one-night stays at Choice hotels showing on their counter for 2019, the number of nights that rollover for status in 2020 is 0 (zero)?

They would start 2020 at Gold and 9 nights rollover I would think

I know that I'm figuring on going into 2020 at Platinum with 11 extra nights. Currently Diamond w/ 31 nights this year

Following up on this: I'm starting 2020 with 0 nights (ended 2019 with 9 nights.) Not surprising, but a touch disappointing as it'd be nice to have the credit card benefit stack with the rollover to get Platinum every couple of years.

As I suspected, it seems to have meant starting at Gold this year and with zero nights rolling over.

Rollover nights are only applicable for those whose night stay counter re-qualified them for status already held. At least that is how it looked yesterday. Does that mean you’re Platinum with no rollover nights now?

Yep. That's all I'm seeing
