Bed Bugs in Las Vegas Downtown Grand

Second day

First day
I was bitten by bed bugs in Room 1214, Las Vegas Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino.

When I first report to the front desk rep, his first response is "IMPOSSIBLE". I understood his reaction, so I did not make a big deal out of it.

So far, there is no apologies from the hotel management.

BE AWARE!

******************UPDATE on 8/5/18*******************
Here is the response from the hotel management:

”I do apologize if no one had the opportunity to get back in touch with you or if this is a duplicate response, I apologize messaging you again.

I wanted to let you know that we have both rooms you stayed in (1206 and 1214) fully inspected by a third party pest control inspector and he found no evidence of bed bugs in either of the rooms.

We thank you for letting us know your concern so that we could have the rooms checked

If you would like to discuss these findings further please reach out to me at your earliest convenience”

How awful? Do you have any photographic proof to assist you? I hope you are able to get this resolved to your satisfaction.

I second this! It's such a large forum and I am happy that the OP is getting some personal attention to the matter.

I stayed there back in Feb 2018 was a really nice hotel. I was up high around 20th floor if I recall the room was MINT I couldn't find one piece of furniture with a nick on it I was almost under the impression that when they renovated it from the Lady Luck that some upper rooms were never opened up or used after the remodel for a while. This really sucks to hear this but it's common now a days with hotels I wouldn't let it defer me down the road unless Choice has no good answer to the situation. The front desk response is very dumb it's def possible now a days you obviously don't know much about the hotel business and how much they work to stop this kind of stuff lately.

Just checking in with the OP to see how this was rectified. Did they make it right?

Personally, for ANY hotel that has reliable reports of bed bugs, nothing short of a complete fumigation and/or heat extermination treatment would satisfy me. Even then I’d be quite leary to spend the night. Do you know anyone who has experienced a bed bug infestation in their home? I know two people. One brought them back from a luxury hotel in NYC. The other had them brought into their home by their son in preschool (the school was suffering an infestation). In each case it took THOUSANDS of dollars to clear the infestation in their home. Multiple failed extermination attempts, new mattress purchases, and loss of use of one’s house during extermination attempts gets VERY expensive, VERY fast. Is it worth all the potential expense, inconvenience, and “creep factor” of bringing these pests into your home from one iffy hotel stay?

I took some pictures at the hotel. Because of my account doesn’t have enough post count, I can’t post them here. I did send the pictures back the hotel management. No response yet. Thank you for your support.

I stayed there twice before this trip. My experience was good, only complaint is the noice from the show on the street. The rooms in the casino tower are little bit old now, not as good as those in the other tower. Another complaint is getting the points from this property. It took months to have them shown in your account. If I have enough points for Hyatt, accumulated from Chase, I won’t stay here again. I didn’t mention one horrible thing in the post. They denied check-in for my friends, because I didn’t put their name in the reservations. As we all know, when you book the reservation from your mobile app, there is no option to type someone else name.

if you go for the price, it may be one of your good options. If you have points for other hotels, then stay away from it. I recommend to book it now to reserve the good price. Cancel it later if you need to. Good luck.

Thank you for your support. What you said really makes sense! I most likely will NOT stay at this property again. Meanwhile, I still have good experiences with Sleep Inn, Comfort Inn and Comfort Suite. I am kind of those travelers don’t stay in the hotel room most of the time. A low cost hotel with free parking really helps my budget. God bless!
