Problem with booking

I am trying to book a hotel room in Chicago for mid-August. When I get a list of hotels, I get the redemption options with two hotels in the city at 30K/night and one with 20K/night. However, when I click on "book" for the 20K property, I am taken to an error page that says no rooms are available. Has anyone else experienced this issue before? I'm new to Choice.. Was planning on transferring a bunch of Amtrak points to Choice but don't want to do it if I am ultimately unable to book.

Are you logged in? And if so, do you have Elite status? If you don't, that is the problem:
"Members who have not yet achieved Elite Status must make their free night reservation personally through the Program Line or through their online account no more than 30 days prior to planned arrival for stays in their country of residence. Sixty days prior to their planned arrival at all other locations worldwide."

Got it - that must be the problem. Thanks - time to ask for a status match.

A status match? To Choice? Given that the benefits of being elite are pretty much limited to a slightly wider award booking window and a bit of a bonus on points for stays, elite with Choice doesn't mean all that much.

Not even sure they will do a match, but they probably do.

Depending on your time frame, you might be better off just getting the Barclay credit card. There's usually a bonus associated with it, and you are Gold elite for as long as you have the card. No annual fee, either.

Well, it doesn't take much to get it and getting those extra 20 days to book might be useful. They said they'd do it. Now I just need my $200 spend on an Amtrak card to process so that I can transfer the points.

Done. Kind of a screwy bonus requirement but on an annual fee-free card I'll live with it.
