E-mail from Choice. Is this a promotion?
So I look in my inbox and see an email from Choice titled, "BigLar, Celebrate the Holidays with More Points". Oh boy - another opportunity to scarf up some points!
There's a picture of a young woman shopping, and then there's the T&C's: Earning Points — Earn 5 points per dollar charged on Choice Privileges Visa card for the purchase of Choice Privileges points and Choice Hotels gift cards. Earn 2 points per dollar charged on the card for all other purchases, including non-point-eligible Choice Privileges stays. See Terms and Conditions for more information. |
Actually, it reads like a downgrade. What this about only 2 points for Choice Hotel stays that are non-point-eligible? So if I charge incidentals on a rewards stay (which is not point-earning eligible) that card will only earn my 2 points instead of 5? So I choose to earn miles (in which case I'm not point-earning eligilbe), that card will figure it out and will only earn my 2 points instead of 5?
Or are they just talking about countries in which all the hotels are non-point-eligible, like Japan and Norway??? |
So what's the earning rate on a point-eligible Choice Privileges stay? Presumably 2 points as well, because that's not a purchase of Choice Privileges points or Choice Hotels gift cards.
