Unfortunately, it's not listed as a Choice property anymore, so I guess that's out.

Actually, it seems lots of European props are disappearing these days, but new ones get added, too, so I guess the 'rules of the game' are - keep looking. If you see a good deal, grab it.

Too bad :( This was the best Choice in Paris by far...

I can't argue with you from personal experience, but the overall consensus seems to be on your side.

IIRC, that prop only came into the Choice program a couple of years ago, and now it's gone. Oh Honore, we hardly knew ye!

In a panic, I checked and the Opera Pavillon is still 'in the fold' and it was a pretty nice place (my review is somewhere in the reviews thread). I did notice, however, that most of the places (in Paris, anyhow) have stopped offering free breakfast and are charging anywhere from 10 to 16 euros per person. In Paris, you can get a very nice b'fast pretty much anywhere for less than that, so I guess this is another 'enhancement' we will look at with a jaundiced eye. :td::(

...and also at most hotels in Europe ... outside of the US, for that matter.

Do you mean by "most of the places" Choice hotels, or most hotels in general? I haven't encountered this, and hope it's not the latter.

I was talking about the Choice hotels.

My other Europe hotels have been with Marriott or Hilton, and when I was a top-tier in their programs nice things, like free breakfast and lounge access, came with it. Now that I'm just a bottom feeder, I don't look there so much. :(

Thank you. Thing is, continental breakfast, at least, has been de rigueur since forever in Europe - even down to the two stars. Bread and jam, at least. It would/will be a shame if by joining Choice, independents feel they can take on the American lodging sans breakfast trait. And ironic, since Choice in the US seems to be a last bastion of at least continental breakfast, even if just packaged danish, down to Econos and Rodeways.

Looks like the Quality Hotel Paris Orleans, another good choice in Paris, left...
I am not seeing it anymore on choicehotels.com

Well, this one left as well... no Clarion Collection anymore in Paris...
