Reward night?

Do we pay tax on the room or is it included in the points, I have never stayed before using points. Thanks

The good thing about Choice point awards is that the breakfast is also included, unlike other programs.

If breakfast is included at the hotel for paid rates, you get it on award nights, that is true. [But for clarity, you don't get breakfast on award nights if the hotel doesn't provide it to all guests.]

What hotel chains would provide breakfast if you paid (a lowest rate, not a higher special breakfast-included rate) but not on award?

Hilton HHonors gives me the same elite-status-dependent free breakfasts on award stays as on paid stays. If I didn't have Gold (or better) status, I wouldn't get free breakfasts (at, say, HGI) on either paid or award stays. (Of course, at Hampton, everyone gets free breakfast, status or no status, but again either paid or award.)

And Choice does not give free breakfast at award stays at their hotels (like many Clarions) that don't have free breakfast with (the cheapest rate) paid stays.

So I'm confused about alterman's point on both ends!

SPG, HHonors, and Marriott have some properties--especially in Europe--whose paid rates generally include breakfast, but whose awards do not.

Elite status perks are a different matter.
