I don't boycott 'em, I just think the usual dairy companies in China produce terrible milk. That's a benefit to being in the south often, getting the Kowloon Dairy brand. It's not great, but it's much more palatable IMO than Mengniu for instance.
About cheese plates, the Raddison Blu Tianjin has a good one, along with real blue cheese dressing for the salads and very good swiss cheese in the quiche somehow I didn't get a picture of the cheese plate, maybe because we devoured it all so quickly! https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-F...-49-31_757.jpg In Dalian I also seem to be missing a picture of the cheese plate, but it was very good, and large at the Olive Garden (no not the US Chain, a mom and pop place in China, which has/had better food than the chain!) So being that I don't have a picture of the cheese plate I will have to show the really tasty feta that was on the salad: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-P...19-58-25_8.jpg |

Btw, any recommendations on a "Western" brunch type meal in Pudong/Lujiazui? Either at hotels or independent restaurants.
Just stay away in the evenings, their dishes are mediocre at most. Salads not bad, though. |

I've been getting sandwiches at the Portman location for years... one of the best deals in Shanghai (i.e. 1/4 the price of Wags).
Steady, good quality. Gruyere is gone from the cheese options but at least Cheddar and Gouda still available. Shanghai is beginning to feel the summer heat...Lucky to be on the KA escape pod coming week. |
