PVG car service

We would like to book a car service for pick-up at PVG late at night-just want as few hassles as possible when we're tired so would like to avoid the taxis that evening. Who do you recommend? Thanks.

What hotel are you staying at? Most of the hotels either run car services themselves or can point you to a discounted limo/car service.

There is a material difference in price. Meter taxi to most Shanghai area hotels is Y200 or less; hotel cars are Y700-800.

Seems like a strange idea, way more expensive than a taxi and taxi service is easy

1) Well signposted out of arrivals
2) English speaking guy will give hotel name to taxi driver
3) Taxi driver takes you straight there

Late at night shouldn't be more than a few minutes queue, if any

We're not staying at a luxury hotel due to Formula 1 being on so it's the Ramada Plaza on Nanjing. As we are two females arriving separately late at night and tired, we just thought it might be much easier to avoid the hassles and chaos there but everyone does say they taxi queue works fine.

I normally get to PVG fairly late in the evening (generally between 10pm and midnight) and have never found the airport to be particularly busy. Taxi queueing does work well, and will take you about 40-45mins to Nanjing Road at that time of night.

The Ramada plaza does have it's own limo service if you're particularly worried though. Last time I stayed at the Sofitel Hyland on Nanjing Road W I think it cost us 500RMB to there using their service.

Hmmm....I'm there during that time and was able to get a much better quality hotel, but possibly it's because I am staying in Pudong on the other side of the river. Have you tried that approach, assuming you want a better hotel?

Yes, Pudong had a lot of luxury choices but we didn't want to be over there since this is a leisure trip and we'd like to walk as much as possible. I will switch to a luxury hotel my last two nights (6 in total there) after rates get back to normal. Thanks for the info though.
