Does the airside transit desk in T3 issue boarding pass for airlines in T2?
So you didn't need to go through immigration nor customs, right?
Should I carry an e-ticket receipt with me?

I've almost never carried an e-ticket receipt with me so far, but it seems like I should probably have it this time.

Yes, kind of. There is one needed for security... but for me it was hand written on CA stock.
Well, kinda. There was some "police" that checked my docs and stamped the boarding pass, but, I didn't get a stamp in my passport for whatever that is worth.
I had mine printed just in case but with my passport, destination given verbally and the airline name they made a phone call and verified I had a res. So I'm sure it isn't required but I'd say advisable.

Need help - I am flying Bom-Bkk-Pek (3:50 pm) and my nxt flight Pek-Dfw on a diff ticket leaves at 6:40 pm. Would i have enough time to get 24 hr transit stamp and collect bags n recheck them? I have never used PEK before. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I will be coming by Thai on Terminal 3 and than pass immigration to get my bags and recheck them and next flight is from Term 2 by DL airlines. I will be taking 24 hr transit stamp so i wasnt sure if 2.50 hrs is enough to get stamp and recheck bags. Also flight lands around 3:50 pm , is tat busy landing time at PEK?

If you can convince TG to through check your bags, you might be able pull off airside transit. Otherwise, just get the stamp and take the regular bus.

Thanks for your response. TG wont be able to do tat. My flight is BOM-BKK-PEK and 1st segment on AI and 2nd on TG. I highly doubt AI will check bags through DTW. Do you think 2.5 hrs is enough to do immigration, security, take bagS n ride to T2? thanks.

I agree it's unlikely AI will check your bags all the way to DTW, but it doesn't hurt to ask. 2.5 hours borders on tight, but I'm guessing you will make it. Delta's check in cut off is 60 mins, so that gives you 1.5 hours to get there.

Just want a sanity check here having never had to connect in PEK before.

From reading the last several pages, it seems there is an airside bus in PEK from T3-T2. Does it operate in the reverse as well?

Arriving DFW-PEK on AA @ 14:00 - (T2) Onward to ICN, via Asiana @ 17:00 (T3) - Plan was to take the airside bus from T2 to T3 but not entirely clear on where to find it.

In J on both flights. Would love a chance to shower - can be in/out <0:15 assuming I get through seamlessly, I should be able to use the ANA lounge in T3.

US Passport. 10 Year Visa.

When are you flying? The bus lanes are pretty well marked once you exit immigration...

He's asking about the (extremely) unknown airside transfer between T2 and T3, not the regular landside bus.

I think with a visa I'd just take the landside route, unless the queue at immigration looks crazy (usually only the case for early morning arrivals, when immigration hasn't switched from night to day shift yet, but some incoming aircrafts already dropped off thousands of pax)

3h are perfectly fine for taking the landside route with a visa.

I assume it's a typo and he will arrive in T2.

There is no ANA lounge in T3 as much I'm aware - the CA lounge is ok'ish, but the restrooms are not so much! I'd refrain myself from using the showers there, and I'm not very picky myself..

We are flying UA business class into Beijing where we will connect on Air China to Manila (also in business class). United says they cannot issue the Air China boarding pass when we check in at IAD to leave the US and that we need to get it in Beijing. The UA agent told us that we can just get the onward boarding pass at the Air China business class lounge. This doesn't seem to be feasible as all of the instructions I have seen for transiting in Beijing indicate that you need to have a boarding pass in order to proceed through the transit security checkpoints to get to the lounge. Am I correct on this? If yes, where do I obtain my onward boarding pass for Air China so that I can pass through the immigration and security checks for our onward flight? Does Air China have a counter in the transit area that we can get to before proceeding to the transit security checkpoints? I don't want to wait for a long time in a line only to be told I need to go somewhere else, which seems to be the norm in Beijing. Note, for anyone who says we shouldn't have chosen this connection: we are on mileage tickets and had no choice on the connecting airline/city - Air China or nothing. Any advice is appreciated - thanks in advance!

The UA agent is wrong as you will need your onward boarding pass to get through the transit document and security checks.

PEK has transit counters in the terminal prior to where you would pass through passport control or transit document and security checks. Just stop by one to get your onward boarding pass. Make sure you have your travel documents and itinerary handy for easy reference as well as your luggage receipts if you have checked bags.

Don't worry, while transfer in PEK might not be as easy as it's in some other airports, it's still pretty well for an international-international connection.

Worst I've experienced from out of the aircraft till in the lounge was approx 40min, average is probably around 20min.

If they can't produce your boarding pass for PEK-MNL at your point of origin, as 1kBill said, you'll get it in PEK. That will of course add a few minutes, but nothing to be worry about.

After that it's a quick passport check (unfortunately necessary due to several countries not running proper exit immigration checks) and then security. Nothing really different to other airports in the world..

Int. Transfer in China is MUCH; MUCH; MUCH better/easier compared to an INT-INT transfer in the US, as a comparison.

Thanks! 1kBill - is it well marked to get to the terminal prior to the security checks? Are there any specific signage I should look for? Also, does anyone know if I went to the Air China counter at Dulles before departure whether they could/would issue boarding passing for Beijing?
