COVID test for China Visit help
Hi
My 19 year old friend are traveling toShanghai on Sunday for a vacation with old school friend now back home in China They ordered a next day COVID fit to fly tests a couple of days ago that has not yet arrived (meant to be next day Royal Mail!). As far as I can tell they need a negative certificate from this to then do the online Chinese government website declaration and get a QR code to show virgin airline staff for the Shanghai flight. The Chinese government website form doesn’t look like it asks for any evidence other than a declaration your are negative. They can do an NHS one we have at home but no evidence comes with that other than the physical kit Hopefully the test kit arrives tomorrow as there are no local clinics do them anymore here in Aberdeen Scotland! Can anyone offer any guidance please if the above makes sense!! Many Thanks James |

It's based on the honor system, but as with anything "China", it's best to be safe than sorry. Just do one those cheap and fast RAT (Rapid Antigen Test) within 48 hours of landing in China, then fill out the HEALTH DECLARATION within 24 hours of landing in China, get the QR code, take a screenshot of it, and you should be good to go. (A date stamped photo is extra insurance, although with 99.9% likelihood not needed.) |
Excellent many thanks

Just to confirm, I've done this in the last few days and there was no problem using an NHS test.

Agreed recently flew into Beijing, took photos of my lft test just in case.
If flying with British airways avoid using their document upload system it says it requires a health declaration form (which expires as the code is valid for 24 hrs) and photos of the lft test. We uploaded out photos which then got rejected because we didn't have a timestamp on the photo (not sure how they wanted this). Then went straight to airport to check in and wasn't asked to provide any proof so completely unnecessary |
