Flyertalk - ACCESS DENIED
 

How do you guys/gals deal with the dreaded ACCESS DENIED error that keeps happening?

I usually try and change VPN settings until I get one that works. The alternative is to disable the VPN for the time I want to check flyertalk, but that gets pretty annoying to have to turn the VPN on and off all the time.
I've never found a consistent VPN location that is flyertalk friendly; it seems completely random.

You just are gonna have to turn off the vpn to get it to work. Definitely an annoying problem that seems to have started a few months ago.

Some VPNs are worse than others, but as a loyal Express user inside China, the only way I found was to turn off the VPN. That then meant it was impossible to access the wikis on some FT threads, so also not ideal. Think that's part of the reason this forum is relatively light on action - there's a WeChat group that some of us use instead which is obviously much easier to access.

On Azrael, I use Japan for China 1 or Taiwan. Both are fast and allow access to flyertalk.

I'm sure there are others that flyertalk doesn't block, but these are 2 that I found that I have speedtested and work well.

Santa Clara is my personal favorite, but a$$ has many servers that work fine on FT...and also don't require selecting images featuring crosswalks or bicycles for simple Google searches.
