Lhasa to Kathmandu direct flights
 

Hi,
I am planning a trip on mileage points later next year ( yes i am hopeful ) .
I would prefer to get to Tibet via China and out via Nepal.
I read that Air China and Sichuan Airlines have in the past flown direct LXA to KTM.
I can't seem to find such flights for next september - any thoughts if the direct flights will come back or is it not just a Covid thing?

FYI--if you're not a Chinese citizen with a mainland ID card, generally you cannot go to Tibet unless you're part of an organized tour group.

I was planning to go to Tibet as part of a organized tour group via China and then depart Lhasa thru Kathmandu back home .
Would that be allowed?

That would probably depend on the tour company you choose. I suspect a good one will figure out a way to let you do that, assuming the Lhasa-Kathmandu flight resumes next year.

Flights are few or non existent within China and of course Cathay Dragon have shut down so hard to plan anything yet .
I do try though as i have accumulated multiple airpoints and want to book early to be able to access award seats.
