I was at West Kowloon station yesterday, and I noticed that almost none of the passenger cards had the departure card attached. (I took one of the few that still had a departure card at the counter.) Fellow member klashn just entered at PVG, and he also confirmed that almost none of the yellow arrival cards had attached departure cards.

Has the departure card been discontinued? If so, when did this change occur? My prior visit was in January with both the arrival and departure card.

I just left PVG on Saturday and they even checked that the departure card was filled out before you got to officer. So yep, you still need them.

I couldn't find any yellow forms with both the arrival and departure slips when I entered PVG this morning. When I tried to exit China without a departure card they had me fill one out on the spot.

It's a little frustrating when you don't get all the forms you need, whether on the plane or at immigration. The departure card only took me about 30 seconds to fill out, but I could have done that well before I approached the counter if I was able to fill out the full arrival & departure form upon immigration.

Thanks for the replies all. The reason I asked is because I entered at West Kowloon Station, and all of the forms intentionally had the departure card section removed. I reentered to HK via Futian Checkpoint, and I didn't see any extra forms at the counters like I had in the past. Combined with the report from klashn this morning of PVG also having the departure cards removed from the arrival cards I was wondering if something had changed.

Nothing new here. For years the cards at some entry points have sometimes lacked the departure card.

Had the same last friday at Pingxiang land border.
No depature cards but enough at the exit border in Nanning today.

Sometimes they run out of cards, you gotta ask for them.
