Transiting via Shanghai

I am a Pakistani citizen planning to travel from Sydney to Tokyo via Shanghai. My transit time in Shanghai is just 4 hours. Is it possible to do a Airside / Direct Transit at Shanghai Pudong International Airport? or a Transit Visa is still required in this case?
