Wedding in SHA
In true FT fashion, a fellow I first met in a J lounge has invited me to his wedding.
A woman-friend is joining me amd needs a dress. She is a penny pincher extraordinaire, so can anyone recommend a rental or inexpensive place to buy/hire a qipao or "little black dress?" Important note: she is just shy of 6ft/183 cm. |
No, but I’m surprised to lean that you can get married in an airport! |

Every wedding is different but the ones that I attended in China were not formal at all. More than half of the Chinese guests were wearing tshits.

South Bund Fabric Market is my top pick, but there are similar markets in other parts of town as well.
Any thoughts on a reputable jeweller/coin/bullion shop in Shanghai to pick up a bar/coin/tael of silver? I was thinking of slipping a decent sized bar or coin into the hongbao in addition to some cash. I don't think this is going to be a cheap affair (per capita) for the newlyweds. |
