Is this location for Nanjing ok?
 
Visiting Nanjing for tourism/nightlife and trying to figure out what hotel to stay in. Have gold status with hilton and marriott. There is a brand new marriott at Shuanglong Avenue, Jiangning District that I am strongly considering. I believe this may be a commercial district although the metro runs near there. Is it a suitable base for tourism/nightlife?

Unless you intend to visit factories, no. That's out in the sticks. Calculate an hour to get to the interesting parts of Nanjing.
