I usually buy tickets in person, and have gotten seats on the 2-seat side 100% of the time.

Can you tell me where on 12306? I have never seen that.

So I am still battling pretty severe jet lag and have developed a couple of side effects from my trip such as:

I keep trying hand money to store clerks with two hands,

I'm tempted to say ni hao to random people on the street,

I've lost the ability to say excuse me when getting on a crowded train and just push by people without a thought,

I stand a little to close to the person in front of me because of the fear that if I leave an inch someone will try to cut in,

It boggles my mind that if I suddenly stop walking on the sidewalk there is nobody directly behind me that will immediately walk into me and then walk off without saying anything (seriously every time I stopped someone walked into me),

When someone mentioned that it was hot today I had honestly not even noticed and thought it was a bit cold (the heat in the tiananmen square made me feel like I was being cooked alive),

I keep pulling out my metrocard thinking I will need to use it when I exit the subway,

wondering why there is a 12 minute wait for a subway train!,

I catch myself googling chinese food because the western portions are soo large they make me sick to my stomach,

Its somewhat weird that nobody has come up to me and asked to take a picture with me today....,

I continue to use wechat to communicate with my friends even though I have unlimited texting,

I actually consider NYC air to be fresh air now.
