Thanks for all the replies. I have two questions. They might be really stupid, but this is my first time flying alone internationally as well as my first ever connecting flight.

1. How do I find out what terminal the flight leaves from?
2. Do I have to go through customs or security or anything like that?

Edit: In reply to moondog, Ideally I would be in by noon the next day but it's not the end of the world if I'm not. The flight to Copenhagen is scheduled to arrive at 5:00 PM the first day so that should leave plenty of time. Also, it would be on the same ticket with Air China.

Since you mention CA, both flights should use T3. You will need to pass by border control and security on the way out. In spite of the fact that delays are endemic in China, I am willing to give you 90% odds of pulling off this connection.

Thanks for all your help moondog! I think I'm going to go ahead and book the Air China flight.

Given a choice between the two, I'd definitely give Moscow a miss in favor of Beijing. Worst case, if you get stuck, you should be able to at least get a room at the airport transit hotel, though it isn't particularly cheap. However, are you sure you haven't already looked into:
China Eastern then SAS via BKK? MU741 or TG613 afternoon flight arrive BKK connecting to SK midnight flight out. Layover at BKK would be 9 or 7 hours, respectively, but there is a transit lounge/hotel to get rest at, and other things to occupy your time if you don't want to leave (or parents don't want you to leave) the airport.

I can't recall when you are making this trip, but if in winter, I'd rather be connecting in BKK than PEK.
