3U (Sichuan): TSA, MEL, also has YVR via Shenyang but unclear if this is set up to bypass SHE Immigration and therefore qualify for 72 hour TWOV. Also HKT and seasonally, MLE.
CZ is notably lacking in the nonstop internationals out of CTU on own metal.

On foreign carriers Chengdu to East Asia: NRT, ICN, TPE, HKG, MFM
to SE Asia: SIN, KUL, BKK, HAN
elsewhere: AUH, MLE, AMS

So there are a few interesting possibilities right now and hopefully more in the not-too-distant future.
There's also LHR (BA) and DOH (QR).

AC plane with Panda decorations?

The Panda express from CTU YYZ was done by FedEx who have a special panda carrier for their jets. They were not flown by AC. Air Canada have no promotion tie in with the Panda's five year rental to Toronto.

BTW CA is already promoting Visa Free Panda experience as a stopover to SE Asia.

Worry not... very common mistake around here, but sometimes we really do get confused by it.

Then there is Air China and China Airline of totally different political background which many non-Taiwanese get confused.
I know a retire 747 captain who flew for China Airline, former ROC fighter pilot hit the roof when on a cruise he mention to his dinner tablemates that he was a 747 captain and they ask if he flew for Air China.

Not to mention many non-HKer call Cathay Pacific Airways CP instead of CX. CP was Canadian Pacific Airline which was purchased a few times and eventually by Air Canada.

That is the only remaining part of the big company who was one of the two that built Canada. The other was Hudson's Bay Co.

Just in case you were curious,

"Last month, United began service between Newark and Saint Lucia in the Caribbean."

...awesome journalism!

Chengdu to offer 72-hour visa-free policy on Sept 1

I saw the BA panda plane today! As I was departing from Chengdu to PVG the panda plane was taxiing after landing. Looked very good actually.
